I hope early on that 2v2 is the standard so that we can find the broken shit quick.
Anyone know if you get both bookends with the kollectors edition or just one? The reason I ask is you can only see the one on the box.

1v1 is the tourney standard to start. There’s no reason 2v2 can’t be run at the same tournaments though.
I’d like to see both get popular.

So, this fatality training mode interests me. I thought they were just putting their best foot forward and letting you know all the fatalities up front so that you could get some incentive to try to go out and beat some ass.
But I realized that you have to unlock fatalities from the krypt. That hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s basic logic at this point, considering MK. They have to fill that Krypt up with something other than alternate uniforms and concept art/movies.
On one hand, I’m happy they’re finally putting something useful in the krypt. On the other, I’m a little mad that I have to go through challenges to unlock things (I know some of that stuff’s going to be in Challenge Tower).
How do you guys feel about that?
I’d rather have costumes, fatalities, stages and things like that than it be characters that need unlocked.

Well as long as they dont use DLC for just alternative outfits or stupid shit like that then im fine, im glad the game will come with all the extra stuff right off the bat. I prefer if something like DLC is used for balance changes and added characters, that way you will at least know your paying for something lol.
There will probably be an option to use Koins to unlock them as well, so if you have trouble with the challenges or requirements just do arcade mode a couple times to save up.
I think the majority of the hate MK is generating from the home page posts, are from people who aren’t even old enough to purchase the game. Don’t hate the game, hate the parent.

From my experience the only hate this game is getting is from the clunky animations. If they would stop mocappping everything game let good animators animate this game will look amazing.

So…Stryker is essentially Abel with guns? Also, Shang Tsung looks promising. Hopefully he has a lot more going for him than “Imma throw fireballs at you, turn into X guy”.
The animations are not any worse then SF4 or MVC3, the only reason the animation looks "clunky"is over the lack of hit sparks that a lot of other fighters generally add on impact. If MK9 had massive red sparks upon every hit I bet no one would complain at all about the animation.
Does anybody know if the game is using 2D or 3D hitboxes?
