hopefully they have it patched within the next week or two, even if its not 100% better, any improvement right now would help a lot
Huh.
MK9 has shit net-code.
Imagine that.
But NRS had no nerve to say it was input-delay based rather than fallback code based.
smh
If they can get it to SSFIV levels, perhaps they can be forgiven. Can’t suggest it to anyone till then.
Folks need to complain about netcode till we have games built with flawless code or we’ll be stuck with lag for potentially, ever.
Does the PS3 have terribly worse netcode or something?
No. If a game has good netcode it will play fine. Blazblue Calamity Trigger is a perfect example.
I was referring to MK 360 vs MK PS3.
I am not very picky about lag or input delay in online games because usually it isn’t to the point where i feel like it affects the outcome in the match. But mk9 online is a whole nother story. That coupled with the way higher amount of people who ragequit, complain etc. is making this the first title I just don’t want to play online at all.
I wouldn’t call it shit, I’ve played a good number of matches mostly lag free, and what lag I did experience was purely visual (all inputs still worked out just fine). It’s still nothing special, though.
Sorry can’t help you with that, sounds like a personal problem. Don’t get mad at me because you have to share the net in your home with others, sounds like you might be SOL.
I seriously cannot hit a full combo online right now, combos I hit 95/100 times offline. I am flabbergasted at how bad this netcode is.
Even if you live alone everyone on the planet will have a pc + xbox at the least. Don’t be stupid.
Haven’t got the game yet cause I’m in Aus, but might it have anything to do with players proximity to eachother? Like do NA players ever play with EU players? Just a thought.
Of course it does. The problem is the game doesn’t show country flags for players, or their actual ping. Just four dots, and you get to guess what connection they actually represent.
Purely visual? What do you mean? I don’t think anyone mentioned it dropping inputs.
The large input window probably helps with this.
Lag as in timing combos and reacting to stuff is where it counts, which hasn’t been good thus far.
LOVE this game. But for the life of me I cant do basic combos online. Just something simple like doing a fp,bp, hatchet, hatchet with nightwolf. Tried for 2 hours last night and just couldnt get the second hatchet out in a match. Hope they fix this. This game could be GREAT.
i got into some decent matches last night finally so hopefully the lag is getting better. it still is not at the level you can take it even remotely serious.
cant believe how salty people on this game are thogh. very first match against a random was a ragequit, then people would just quit after i beat htem once. and i suck at the game.
had another ragequit after. had 2 ragequits in about 15 matches … pathetic.
Well the casuals that didn’t pick up SF or Marvel… THIS GAME they had to. Some of my friends that don’t consider themselves even the lightest of gamers are posting links to ‘omgwtfbbq fatalities’ on twitter and facebook.
This game also has the front shelf and massive posters in game stores. Crazy marketing in town - I’ve seen folks genuinely take interest in the display cases where for any other release, meh.
Salt will wear off after a while though, no doubt.
Imagine the visual portion of the game, and the input/fighting/etc portion of the game run separately. The visual portion stutters every here and there, but it feels like my combos and timing aren’t affected at all. I’ve had a few bad experiences where I can’t land anything, but a majority of the matches I’ve had were very playable.
I was in an KOtH match with 5 people last night and the lag was actually not that bad at all and made the matches very enjoyable. Sure it was still present, but not to the point where I was dropping my combos 95% of the time.
Man, why is netcode for 3D fighters such a tough nut to crack? It sucks, I really wanted to buy and get into this game, but I have little interest in playing against the CPU. Online play is pretty much my only avenue of playing other people.
If SF4 and Tekken 6 can have playable online, there is no reason this game should not be able to. I really hope it gets better or that there is a patch in the works.
