Disagreements are cool as long as it’s cool. Gives us notes to swap when we meet at Evo!

I played some MvC2 today, and here are my thoughts:

  • Storm/Sent is really assed out on Cable/any projectile assist if she’s losing. As long as he can maintain distance, he can keep tk viperbeaming and calling assists, and Storm is FORCED to come top down, which is difficult. She doesn’t have a lot she can attack with safely. Any of her money moves is a free hot gun to the poon if it’s blocked. Problems only start if you let her rush you. And there is no reason to let her rush you. You can always jump back.

  • I’m not seeing the Storm rush you’re talking about, Mike :frowning: Perhaps it requires airtight execution, because even people who can put their Storm into Magneto-mode can’t seem to maintain the same kind of offense as Mags.

  • Cable/A-Sent doesn’t beat Mag/Psy, and may have issues with Mag/Tron. I think any other Mag configuration gets beat. Psylocke just ruins Cable’s fun all around. However, Cable’s got plenty of ways to make top down ineffective. Jump up jab beats Mags jump roundhouse (I did it REPEATEDLY today, and I wasn’t even timing it that good), you can tk grenade to cut off the main top down approach, and maintainig distance with tk beam plus assist still works. It’s a lot like the Blackheart fight.

  • Marrow made her debut and well, she still needs time in the shop. Bone burst super is not instant, and if an assist is in the way of Raimeiken, Cable can shoot you  So I’ll have to hammer the kinks out. She has Magneto issues at the start of the match, but she can begin most matches with s.jab except for Megaman and Strider. And her jump fierce is really really good.

  • Boosted with the confidence of framedata, I played more with Megaman, and his stand short has a FUCKLOAD OF STOPPING POWER. I think I stuffed Storm out of s.roundhouse with it today. S.Short combos into S.Forward xx fierce uppercut from max distance, too. My airthrows were top notch too. My Megaman was on the hunt.

  • I tried to glitch BH backdash. Didn’t work.

  • My Sentinel still needs time in the shop. Coming down with jab-fierce is really good, but other than that, I still suck.

  • Mag/Psy is for whores. That is all.

** I dunno I still think Cable is hella good…probably cause I live in Seattle =P. I was playing Row the other day and got fucked up by Cable/Sent/Mag on many different occasions in our Team Row mirror matches. His jumping jab is pretty ridiculous, especially when it’s paired with Mag assist. Patience is a virtue of mines, but after a while I got pretty upset and tried going tri jump fierce, roundhouse mode and flew into repeated jab fierce super/scimitar/tk grenade, fierce, fierce vb cheese all day. But I suppose you can just say Row’s Cable is crazy. =/**

** As for Storm vs Sent, I think Sent jacks mediocre Storms pretty bad. Smarter Storms will make the match more evened out. But overall I think Sent>Storm.**

** If I were to rank teams it’d probably go something like this.**

** 1-Team Row**
** 2-Storm/Sent/Commando or Cyclops**
** 3-Magneto/Storm/Sent or Psy**
** 4-Team Scrub**

** I didn’t post any other teams because I don’t see them up here due to Sent/Commando or Magneto. Only BH player in the entire NW is StiltMan. No one uses Spiral or Strider/Doom up here. I think matches can go either way despite the advantages/disadvantages. I’m curious as to why Cable sucks now. We’re probably too trigger happy up here to notice his downfalls. I personally think he still has hella going for him and has more purpose than to just kill Sent.**

have you guys all gone insane???

there is no debate about who’s the nastiest batch in the game

storm is number one, no argument
cable is like number 4 IMO, that could be argued

das: you forget that mag/cyc also gives cable/sent-a trouble, have you guys ever heard of safe rushdown???

Hell yes that can be argued!

I always felt that Cable/Sent Y is a pretty good duo. Is Cable/Sent A so much better? Why?

I believe drones can cover practically the same angles as RP with cabel doing HPs or TK Vbs with it. It gives harder work to some assists to get into (Psy, Cyc) and provides more control where cable can chnge sides from below opponents safely, while calling it from behind the opponent. Am I right with any of these points?

Cable that can block = da pain

I’m not allowed to talk though… I play Felicia :frowning:

you are right…but u see, this year somebody won evolution with team row, so now everybody has to say its the best…:lame:

its official, there is no more tiers. Its now the justin wong tiers.

Whatever team justin win with will deem to be the best, cause thats the team that won.

Really i want to know what tiers is like in high, high level.

I mean low level, (i know it, team scrub dominates)!!!

Justin even says though, that if he wants to win, he picks Storm/Sent/AAA. Otherwise, he plays random Magneto based teams (MSP, MSC, Row, etc).

i’ve heard that the VS mode is faster than the Arcade…is this shit true? i’ve always thought tri jump lk was fast as hell on VS compared to Arcade, but since always hearing the DC is a perfect port, i disreguarded my instinct…anybody got any info to enlighten a lost one?

tell you right now team scrub is done

i got a new team i called it Team double penetration

its cable/sent-a/cyc, that shit can’tstopwon’tstop…

oh yeah and koji kondo is destroying that shit

why is cable/sent-rocket punch better than cable/sent-drones?

its hard to say which is betta, better to say they’re both good in different ways.

cable/sent-a can punish rush down, i.e pushblock into sent = dead ppl

sent’s three projectiles are harder to punish and get out of the way, but it takes longer to come out and you can’t punish rushdown

IMO its easier to catch/annoy runaway with rocket punch

Sentinaaal! lies. It’s all about the Thanos/Doom tech.

On a serious note though… I’ve heard that Cable/Sent/Cyke has been getting a lot of play recently. What’re the benefits here over Scrub? And what about Sent-a on Scrub?

nah man tell the truth thanos/tron >>>thanos/doom

the benefits of team DP is that it doesn’t die to mag snap-out.

sent-a gets get scrubbed clean easily

Team DP? I take it that’s Cable/Sent/Cyke?

But if you had to contrast and compare Scrub, Scrub-a (Sent-a), DP, DP-a (Sent-a again)… what would you say the advantages/disadvantages be?

Thanos/Tron should be banned from tourneys. Too strong :frowning:

bdHct?chEBthcycHps?s`FApI

you want ranking here it is

thanos/tron
scrub
dp/a
scrub/a
dp

its kinda hard to say really, but if you dont like being rushed down by nasty florida mag then you pick DP for twice the fun, twice the lube.

no reason to play dp/scrub-a if you’re not being rushed down

you can play scrub no matter what

oh yeah and word on the street is that cable/sent-a is still bomb and doesn’t get rushed down for free.

OMG! Scrub will never die!

I do like your opinions on sent-a for scrub though. I might try that.

Besides, you can still AHVB off rp.

I use to play DP. It’s alright, I don’t like it over Scrub though, because Scrub gives damage faster. DP is more defensive I think, and doesn’t get eatten the same way Scrub does. It’s a whole different beast.

I’ll probably end up playing Scrub, Scrub-a, or DP. Depending on my mood.

So against say… Santhrax, DP/Scrub-a is like sticking your penis in a cement mixer?

What makes DP-a better than Scrub-a and DP though? Easier to land AHVB on rushers?
