I’ve tried to be a part of my own little scene for over a year, but I’ve never gone to the regional zones here at Shoryuken until just now. I’m not that great a player, but I’m always willing to play for hours on end and I see getting bodied as getting better.
I live here in Biloxi, MS. I play with a few people locally, but their tastes aren’t as diverse as mine. I play SSFIVAE, MvC3, MK9… used to play BB:CS, and things like that. Looking forward to 3rd Strike Online. One other friend of mine plays on PS3 with me, while the other two play on 360. They really only play MvC3.

But I rarely play online. My connection isn’t great to play real serious matches, but I’m hoping to find some people in the area that are willing to play.
My area is kind of close to that and I know a few people who play SSFIV AE and MVC3 , but don’t know many who play MK9 . I have PS3 but I don’t play it much anymore , and neither do I have SSFIV AE for PS3 .
We need to get involved in certain stores and see what we can do to get some small tournaments going . I don’t know of a single Play N’ Trade in this area .
Gautier is definitely driving distance, as I would assume Biloxi/Woolmarket area is for you. We should definitely try to make plans sometime soon.
I got into competitive fighters back in 2006 when I started playing Melee competitively. I found a small crew of Smash players in a GameTraders at Edgewater Mall, and eventually only two of us remained. The store closed down and the owner opened a PlayNTrade around Ocean Springs area, had time for one Smash tournament, and then that store closed down too.
Now I play more “Capcom Fighters” than Melee because the area down here is dead, but I’m the only one who plays SSFIVAE [and I’m balls at it; I think it’s difficult to learn a game like SFIV when you don’t have good players to play again, and online is just heartbreaking], but I have a group of four that tinkers with MvC3 and MK9. We’re definitely not really tournament competitive at a big scene, but we’re at least smart enough to hold our own to some degree? lol. I dunno, I guess we’ll just need to try to set a date up to play. I dunno if I can get all my people since three of us work at the same place, so we never have time to hang out except late at night, but I’d personally definitely be interested in setting stuff up.
Yeah, I got my stick in about a week and a half ago. I actually feel like I picked it up without much issue. Though that may have to do with the fact I was never a big baller on pad anyways. lol.

Hell we can come back the same night if you want since it would be more going to help drive instead of staying but that’s up to you. JROCK, are you guys coming up to it? Also does anyone have a monitor or crt tv along with mvc3 they can bring to the tourney, I got maybe one setup and need at least 2 more for that game. Any others such as ssf4 ae full setup along with mk9 full setup would be greatly appreciated, that will wave your registration fee as well.
I plan on going to ARK IV sir so yea as what I said above. Also cedric said you better drag cylus down to RS3 so he can get his rematch against him in marvel lol
