You do know what UMvC3 is basically going to be a new game…
Many of the problems with MvC3 are related to the game’s engine, and cannot be easily patched. To fix them, they have to completely overhaul the game. Throw in an additional 12 characters, 4 stages, reworked online, spectator mode, and SPECTATOR MODE…not to mention that this won’t be only the new content, it will be a completely stand-alone game.
Even engine problems can be patched. It might make the patch rather large (especially for a disc-based console game), but it’s nowhere near impossible – look at practically every MMO ever made.
On an unrelated note, I must be crazy, because I think I’m going to start playing Blazblue again.
What Vice said. Console games have had major patches for a long time, going all the way back to Halo 2. Hell, BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 and SSFIV:AE were released as patches.
But regardless if all the new features warranting a new disc or not… this game is coming only 8 months after the original, a game they were patching but then abruptly stopped even tho Wolverine, Phoenix, and XF in general were the obvious problems, along with the usual Capcom-quality shitty online experience. People keep calling MvC3 a beta for a reason, and the “fix” coming so soon makes it worse. And the price is just shitty icing on a crap cake. How many people are gonna buy this game that don’t already have MvC3? This game may as well be an expansion to content I already own, and most non-WoW expansions don’t cost $40.
It wasn’t like MvC3 was a critical or commercial failure or anything. Knock $10 off the price and the outcry would be much much smaller. Or at least go ahead and tell current MvC3 owners of the bonus that they’ll receive (preferably a $10 credit for DLC content of their choosing) instead of the lame cock-teasing they are doing now.
BlazBlue is fun as hell dude. Nothing wrong with that. I’d be a little more concerned if you said you wanted to start playing Bikini Karate Babes 2: Warriors of Elysia.

I couldn’t see them NOT providing incentive for previous owners of MvC3. Its like what Nintendo is doing with the 3DS price drop ($170) in August. Anyone who has logged on the Nintendo Shop before the price drop date will receive 20 games from the Virtual Console store. 10 NES and 10 GameBoy games. The best thing about it is that 10 of the games provided will never be on the Virtual Console store.
Honestly man, SPECTATOR MODE is enough for me to buy it without complaining.
And really, Capcom owes us nothing. I’m personally grateful we’re getting twelve new characters at a discount rate. DLC characters are typically $5 per character. $5x12=$60. We save $20.
That’s my thoughts about the matter. I’ve already got my copy preordered. I’m hoping a tournament goes down at one of the GameStops around here. I wouldn’t be hype for it, but I could meet more locals that play.
whoa there didnt realize that i wasnt on the main list

EVO was awesome this year! I had a feeling Daigo wasn’t going to be first but to not even be in top 3… that was nuts. Watching him get bodied by poongko was the highlight of the night.
**Wanted: **Hattiesburg (Or anywhere close) players for this or next upcoming week! I am new to the site and I have two friends and we all like to play SSF4AE, MVC3 and BBCS2!! Please leave a message or PM and lets set up some casual matches!!!
The reason you probably haven’t gotten a reply from Vicevirtuoso about this is he’s likely passed out on the floor from sheer excitement over having some people t play with. That is, unless he knows you already… then he’s probably just out on a date with Mama Thumb and her four daughters.
