SUPER Street Fighter 4 Tourney Planning Ideas
Hey guys. It seems like another season of Street Fighting is Upon us. I would like to open this thread to express ideas that will allow us to continue running great tourneys, but at the same time attracting new players.
Issue #1 - LAGGY TVs!!
This is straight forward. Is there any optimal TV to use?!!? CRTs running on 480P? seem to be the best?! Are there any LCDs that may have less than a frame of lag and would be optimal to use as our standard Setups?!
Issue #2 - LOCATION LOCATION!!
As of Right now, I am discussing with the Managers of UNDERGROUND @ YORK UNIVERSITY to run a SSFIV tournament. They do not require that I'm part of a Club, however they will charge some fee. They have a large open area, where we can Setup Stations, as well as Tables to Eat near and away from Tourney. If anyone has any other official/unofficial locations in mind PLMK.
Issue #3 - $10 Tournaments with 4th and T-5ths getting Money.
The community is so large and in the past $10 Tournaments were the Standard. I propose that we run $10 Tourneys again, but allowing 4th and the Tied for 5ths to get some Money.
60/20/10/5/2.5x2
ie 50x10=500; 300/100/50/25/12.50x2
(or T-5th can battle for the greater of a 3%/2% split. Better than nothing no?!)
Issue #4 - NEW CHARACTER TOURNEY!!
We should start off this "new season" of SF by having a New character only tourney. This will allow players to learn the new characters, and have a somewhat even playing ground since no one will have XP with said characters. Thoughts?
Issue #5 - ATTENDANCE
Okay this isn't that much of an issue. But maybe we should try to carpool, or spread the word more, if we would like to increase numbers. Its always good getting players from ALL REGIONS, near and far, to come out to our tourneys. So far we've attracted Buffalo, but I want to attract more players from all across. WORD OF MOUF!!
Any other suggestions/ideas!? I plan to have that SSFIV Tourney May 1st?! or May 8th. LMK what you guys think. Thank You.
