Your sarcasm not withstanding, one would figure the more logical choice to be choose a school that’s a little more local to cut down on expenses. Of course I’m basing this on the scenario that Ramy was accepted to other Universities to begin with.

I firs got accepted to Windsor and I accepted the offer with rez. Then 3 weeks later I got a late acceptance from Ottawa but no rez. So the main reason I live in an apartment is because I’m not on rez.
Now why would I apply for Osap? Because I have other bills to pay IE car insurance, phone etc…
You said people tend to go closer to home to save money. I chose to go far away to start on my own and be able to support myself which is pretty much what I am doing right now
you abililty to afford a higher education should not dictate where you should receive your education. That’s what OSAP is for. If Ottawa U is Ramy’s first choice for university, OSAP is used to help him make that work. It’s not like it’s free money.
edit: Chunk Norris only runs dota because he’s trained by none other than Vin Diesel. Vin still owns Chunk for free whenever they play.

can’t see why not, I’m pretty sure Osap eligibility is based off your families financial situation. I mean lets say you get a scholarship for say, half or even all of 1st year, but don’t have enough money to pay for res, or rent a house. It would be kind of stupid to screw over the creme of the crop in the school by not allowing them the extra money they need. Thats just a guess tho.

Anyways, as for scholarships and osap. When you recieve a scholarship, OSAP gives you less… just like they give you less based on the money in your bank. If you have the money, they expect you to spend what you can, and they will help out with the difference. Don’t expect full OSAP when you have a scholarship coming in, and definately don’t attempt to hide that you have a scholarship, or you might not get OSAP in the following years.

Well, random story. Last night as some of you know i was playing dota and people kept comin gand knocking on my door… and disappearing. I just accepted it and kept playing. Eventually I went over to my buddies room for a while. When there, there is a knock on the door and the porter comes in saying “Hey, there’s a Jason Marshall at the front desk to see you.”
Naturally, being the insane person I am, I assume its me coming from the future to warn me of something right on the start of my 19th bday (It was midnight btw). I dunno why I was freaked but I was… Turns out the porter is just stupid and that he got the message all wrong. In reality it was just another friend who was sending the porter to knock on my door about 3 times over 2 hours.
