Mirrors Edge Catalyst

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Fuck you EA.

Apparently this information was posted in December and was grabbed recently. Unfortunate but at least I feel that DICE can focus moar on Battlefield 3.

I still do not like it and I loved BC 2.

Very disappointing but old news (read in GI last year it wasn’t getting a sequel because it sold poorly especially compared to Dead Space.)

Mirror’s Edge was an amazing game for the first few hours, then towards the end where the obstacles became increasingly complex the game showed it has some significant flaws in level design. The first person sonic style gave way to contra memorization and it just wasn’t nearly as much fun as the first half of the game. Also seeing such a big city and having it be so linear was disappointing. However, overall it was very original in concept and art style it’s sad to see such a breath of fresh air get snuffed out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone started a petition that eventually convinced EA to green light a sequel someday…ok I would lol.

Fuck.

That is all.

I heard the game was in limbo. It isn’t like MP would be hard to implement in mirrors edge.

This game is alright AT BEST… fuck this franchise, fuck this game, fuck EA I never liked anything from you anyway except for DAT MADDEN…

I get my basketball fix from the 2K series…

I heard about that a bit ago but it still sucks.
Mirrors Edge was a very fun game although it really needed to be ironed out and get it’s kinks removed with a sequel.

At least there is still Mass Effect 3 for my ‘EA game to look forward to’

They seriously couldn’t take 1 week to create another 20 minute game?

The first one was short and a little uneven, but when everything clicked it was badass. It is a shame they won’t be making a second and iterating on the idea.

I’m going to download this game, install it, just to spit at my monitor screen every time the EA logo pops up!

Nah, since that is coming out March 8th and the Demo came out yesterday should be fine. Also they changed Dragon Age into an Action RPG (Even more so than before) So it should sell well to fans of God of War and shit.

Never played Mirror’s Edge, demo was fun but I wasn’t banking at the time.

Also are we back to hating on EA again, did they steal their title back from Activision?

it may be a shit reason but companies want cash and that is a cheap way to do it. sadly this was the case with Wolfenstein for 360/PS3. they shoehorned in MP and used a team who never has had any experience with games yet so they can save 100k. the Single Player was decent but the MP was the worst MP I have played in a long time. Also Activision gave away ghostbusters because they couldn’t exploit it every year.

it does suck but business is ran with a different thought process than the creative minds who labor on it. this is slightly relevant:

I liked the first one. I wish it got a sequel because it had a lot of potential. When you got into a rhythm it was awesome.

Coming from someone who did parkour this is sad. ME had the groundwork laid for something special. Now I don’t buy it being canceled because of a lack of multiplayer. If DICE did any research at all there is plenty to do for a multiplayer ME including relay races, co-op, time trials, and maybe even gun fights if that aspect were improved. The art design was fine but the game needed pedestrians.

Bummer, I was looking forward to borrowing this from my neighbor.

I checked out the demo last night. I think I may actually go buy this and add it to my collection. It’s a pretty fun game based on the 10 minutes or so I tried it out. Granted I suck because it takes me a minute to get used to the controls, but otherwise, it seems pretty fun.

First game was amazing. The clean/fresh design aesthetic of the environments and the soundtrack were too good. Dammit it EA.

There would’ve been an easy solution to multiplayer.

Playground games.
Tag, follow the leader, hide and seek.
All that on an open map with ~8 players or so.

I would’ve played the hell out of that.

Kind of saddened by this, ME was one of the few non-fighters I’ve bought in the last few years. It was a really nice idea that if it had a little more time, people would’ve loved it.

I got this game for $9 shipped and have yet to play it. Played the demo and enjoyed it since it was different. Sucks that innovative games never get a chance.
