Million Knights Vermillion

MKV is going to die for BBB’s sins.

FOUR MORE DAYS

(according to their time)

I’ll try the game out even though it will probably be broken on the first release.

you sound as if you’re expecting it to be patched/fixed

got some bad news for you…

 Is this the most unhyped fighter ever or what?

what are you talking about

blitz is hella hype

 Now there’s something I cannot disagree with. Hope Auf Asche will be ported soon.

Aye Aye Oooh Aye!

Soldat IS truth. but sai is even more truth. You dont know? You better ask somebody

should get back in on the netplay with us aya

Does netplay still happen?

it does now!

Why is there so much merchandise for this game even though it is not even out? The game will probably suck, too.

I’ll try it out either way, I’ll use that girl that’s flashing panties.

reminds you of another certain game that just came out eh?

at least we can expect a possible patch rather than “The fuck you guys talking about? This game plays fine”

A patch that will break the game.

…and then the inevitable “What the fuck, the patch made the game play fine.”

This game will be another BBB

Broken Busted Bitches

bla bla bla bla bla

I just wanna play it myself.

Then form my own opinion.

Not very far off.

/me thinks to self “Dammit, why cant I just be cool and hate on this like everyone else.”

I’ve been playing BBB 1.06 and I really like it…
Guess I’m not l33t enough :frowning:
Yes… two more days…

Maybe people are just calling shit just in case the slight chance that it might be good, people will be like “Woah! Unexpected! This is good!”

… But, I don’t think so.

I’m hoping this game will be good, but most of us aren’t counting on it. Here’s why.

  • NRF’s track record fucking sucks. Fate/Sword Dance and Big Bang Beat were both bad games. In F/SD’s case, it looked and played terribly. BBB improved the presentation by leaps and bounds but was fundamentally broken by having a million meters to restrict infinites but ended up being broken anyways.

  • Having a game with airdashes and airblocking… but no airthrow or guard crush system. Great idea guys! In BBB most characters only had 5B to break chickenblock, so the mixup boiled down to really simplistic throw/antiflinch 2A hit confirmation/boost hop mixups. Why would you ever introduce these two highly important and potentially unbalanced mechanisms without countermeasures? Not like it mattered because most characters had shitty airdashes in BBB anyways and ground dashes/boost were much faster, but really, even Street Fighter has airthrows. C’mon now.

  • There’s been no videos of real gameplay for the game yet, and it’s a few days from release. Instead of showing us how the game plays, they’re releasing MKV-branded alcohol and other stupid merchandise. To be fair, most donjon games don’t get a preview video, but even BBB had a decent sized video clip showing the game off before release (it was clear from the clip that the game would be a combofest). SWR had a preview video when the game was displayed at a Touhou convention. These sort of things are standard now, covering up how your game plays with merchandising isn’t going to work.

  • Not having netplay, though this is hit or miss since some donjon games like Blitz, SWR, and Hinokakera have netplay. However, lack of netplay along with a lackluster game can kill the scene before it even gets started. Nobody’s going to stick with a game if all they can do is hit up training mode at home, and nobody’s going to bring the game to a gathering unless they know other people are gonna play. It’s a self-defeating cycle. Somewhere along the line someone has to get the ball rolling and netplay makes that much easier (although it won’t sustain a real scene).

  • Original designs. Sure, you’ve got a big name on the project, but who are these characters? Some of them are just out of place, like Nobuko and Tamara. They look poorly animated from the videos we’ve seen – aren’t trailers supposed to generate excitement? Anyone who can actually read the profiles and storyline (which have all been localized for your reading pleasure!) can see that the game is a ridiculous ripoff of BlazBlue and Guilty Gear with some serial numbers changed. They aren’t building off a known franchise so it’s going to be harder for people to accept the cast, especially when you have characters like Folo.

It’s hard to keep the hope alive when there’s so much going against it, but at the same time on the small chance it does turn out to be decent people will probably far more relieved than they would’ve been otherwise.
