as a dedicated chris player that was really awesome to watch! good shit to senior taxi!
i always thought a good team built to strengthen a point chris could fight morridoom well if not better than any other team in the game. seniortaxi, even with his sloppy play kinda proved that. on top of magnums that beats soul fist and hits assists, what can point morrigan do against prone shot with jam session assist? chris w/ jam session neutral just beats morridoom neutral.
i’m almost sure we’re gonna see this team on the big stage again and i’m looking forward to it.

I would love to make a team with jam session but I hate Dante so much.
Well, I learned to accept Doom eventually so maybe I’ll deal with Dante too…but I really do not like him.
yeah dante is just not for me either. i think there are other assist that can work. you just have to figure out the counter pattern. also learn to add tiger knee grenades/landmines off of prone position to counter some of the attempts at rushdown.
what i’d like to see is yipes pick up the chris, spencer, dante team to counter morridoom. especially since he has mentioned he really likes chris and he is also excellent with the other characters.
btw senortaxi’s full name is actually “senor ass taxi” and he’s a regular at thursday night runback and he has some cool chris combos with that team. he still does not play that team at it’s best but is getting better by the week so he’s definitely one of the chris players to watch out for.
Well I know there are other top assists to try out like vajra and even lariat since smart Morrigans will try to rush down at some point, but jam session is so damn good at doing all of the things Chris needs and them some. Just makes me sad it’s attached to such a silly character.
Yea I’ve only seen Taxi play at Runback maybe once and he didn’t do hot. Glad he’s sticking with it though. He’s definitely the most popular Chris player at the moment so he has that going for him haha
Yipes actually messed with Chris a bit in the Vanilla days, but he never really explored what he was capable of. No idea if he’s even considered Chris in Ultimate, maybe for fun. I’ll bug him next time I see him about it if I can get a word in.
thanks chris d. i love seeing good chris players and since NCR senor taxi is quickly becoming one of my favorite players to watch. great to see him make it so far in the tourney. i’ve said this before and i’ll say it again with the right assist eam built around chris he can fight any team in this game. i hope he can take this as a major uplift as a chris player and continue to improve his game. i just wish there was some way for us to get in contact with him and help encourage him and give him some constructive feedback to improve his play.
Yea I was gonna ask if he even checks this place out. I figure he has to lurk if he’s doing those combos right? Need to have a talk with him haha. He did well in every match up except against Wolverine. Granted, these were the best Logans in the business, but he would get cornered and couldn’t do anything in a lot of those matches. This is why lariat is almost necessary in that match up but you can’t call it while they’re mashing crouch L. I really hate Wolverine.
senor taxi’s gameplan is really simple. spam alot of crap on the ground until he gets a hit leading into touch of death combo that ends in the corner. then set up a really simple incoming mixup of call jam session, throw flame grenade, go for airthrow which can still lead to other options for chris to land a hit. then rinse and repeat. thats why he gets a lot of ocvs with chris.
and the great thing about the bionic maneuvers super is that when it kills it lets chris raw tag back in with enough time to set up that incoming mixup. i wasn’t convinced that spencer was a good teammate for chris since he did nothing for chris in the neutral until senor taxi made me realize this point.
this strategy works really well against point characters that can’t fight chris w/ jam session once it gets started.
sup guys, i’m bad at chris (day 1 actually) but I thought maybe he could work with strange. I found some tech that involves dhc’ing grenade launcher into SoV into FoF loops.
I tried this with a grounded opponent since it put them in a nice spot to DHC into SoV and continue into a combo, but I want to test using a grenade in the corner canceled into launcher and see what happens.

Shoutouts to Bruno for inspiring me to use that team again. Unfortunately Haggar/Strider alone still sucks so I’m learning Dante now. Fun times ahead
Also my top 32 match against Unknown was recorded but it won’t be worth watching. I dropped too much in the first game and it went downhill from there.

99% of the traffic here involves people asking how to do grenade extensions and magnum confirms after SJ since we have no real organization to the data. X.x

I know of Yoshi and Bruno’s. And then there’s Needlecrash and Denshin’s channels. Apart from those guys I can’t think of much else.
My problem is that I literally only have a phone to record stuff. I’ve actually got a small proof of concept idea to show off to you guys. I just have to get someone to be my player 2 to test it out and record it hopefully this week.
