Military Surveillance: The Chris Video Thread

Yea Footwurk was in a tough spot because he beat me first round in pools and I didn’t use that team until I was already down 2-0 and I actually started to land setups so I think I had an element of surprise plus he just lost a tough winners finals.
I will certainly be at Summer Jam. I’m always at Philly majors and East Coast Throwdown as well. We’ll be in touch!

I always like watching your Chris man. Very clean. It seems that your team composition is shaping up quite nicely.
This is from a local I went to last night. My match is at the 4 hour mark. Mind you, tournament jitters pretty much wrecked my whole performance.

It’s ok. It happens.
I ran into this which I think is worth sharing

I just found this myself a few days ago. That’s some sick shit. How the TAC doesn’t work from that is way beyond me though.

Some other characters have the same thing. It’s a weird thing about hitting the ground before the opponent or some such nonsense. I can’t wait for someone to figure out how to turn it into an infinite.

That was really cool, I’m also looking to see if I can find any solo tech for Chris.

Bruno is quickly becoming one of my favorites. And not just because he’s using my old team.

I’d say you did rather well seeing how you won and all!
Are you aware of Chris’s better BnB and throw combo options? Both lariat (in corner) and missiles (from anywhere) can help him get really good damage off of anything.
The flamethrower pressure was interesting, I never like throwing it out there but it looked good against the rushdown characters.
Also have you considered switching Haggar to point in some matchups? I think he works better when he has a sure fire horizontal helping him get in rather than just missiles. That reset at the end was really cool.
Keep it up!

chris, haggar, strider in that order was also my first team in ultimate. i think it’s the best point chris team in the game and can fight nearly every matchup. great assists and great xfc comeback character. the only problem with that team is haggar with vajra just isn’t good but he can still bring bring in strider safely and that’s what really matters.

i’ve also been following brunowizard since won the brazilian revox tournament with that team. he has some very fancy combos with his team but he doesn’t do the best combos with the best meter gain which are a lot easier to do than the combos he does choose.

i didn’t want to learn strider from scratch back then but i’ve seen enough strider tech that i’ll probably pick it up again.

I’m glad I dropped Strider for many reasons. I have different opinions on what the best point Chris team should be but this isn’t the proper thread for such things. I don’t really miss vajra, I’ve learned to live without it.

i only mention that team here because bruno uses that team. vajra is one of the few assists that adds damage to chris’s combos and happens to come with a good comeback character. i wouldn’t use it in the neutral game either. in the appropiate thread what do you think is the best chris team?

I think Strider is a lot more effective when your point character can apply a lot of offensive mix up pressure, otherwise his vajra assist can be punished pretty easily. I was never under the impression that Vajra was a solid choice for Chris even though it helps cover the parts of the screen that Chris can’t properly zone.

Btw Chris D, are you on psn or xbox live? I wanted to know if you wanted to get some games in sometime soon…

I canceled my XBL live account almost a year ago because I’m really not on much these days. I have considered getting a PS3 version for practice whenever I have to do a PS3 tournament. If i get that I’ll send you my PSN name.

I actually ran Haggs on point ans chris second until about two months back. I just feel that Chris benefits more from lariat in a neutral environment than Hags does from a beam since missiles gives him extensions from any hit and also give me about 8 different reset set ups, haha. Plus, dhcs seem easier, more damaging, and leaves Haggs in a good Position to continue pressure compared to Haggs dhcing into Chris…well, outside of the Bum THC special with hagg/chris.
Sadly, my Bnbs and throw followups are still getting worked on with him so I’m still not sure of a good way to extend combos with my assists outside of the few videos posted on the video forum.

Just saw the video Retnuhs66. I like what I saw. Grenades against Viper was risky but it worked out very well in your favor. Keep it up sir.

Haha, thank you. Now if only we could get some matches going online without connections bugging out.
