It may not change. By voicing your opinion in a calm and reasonable manor it can be heard and thought about. I have to be honest I don’t like the run animation either, it looks sloppy and dumb. It’s not a huge deal, but there’s nothing wrong with saying something about it as long as your not blood vessel busting nerdrage over it.
Exactly, the problem is people are taking it further and saying shit like “If it’s going to look like this I want my money back” FOR FUCKING WIP.
Just want to dropkick motherfuckers on gaf and other places, I need to stop reading any discussion on this shit till it is out. If there was an argument for not showing any very early development footage for a large game while it is being worked on, this would be used as the leading fucking example.
Well this is also why I don’t donate to kickstarters in general. I’ve only ever donated to the 1/2 Genie Hero kickstarter because they gave me Riskys Revenge on iOS for free before i even even donated. I also have a shit load of faith in WayForward, they have yet to make a game I didn’t like. Only other developer I hold in as high regard would probably be Platinum Games (they also have yet to make something I didn’t like) or specific development groups within Nintendo.
Aside from that I’ll pay when the product is done, thanks.
This is the only Kickstarter I’ve ever donated to. I did it because I know I’m going to buy it, and I wanted to support the development. Besides, I’ll be getting the game for my platform of choice(Vita) when it comes out for the $20 I donated. Those who didn’t donate will likely be paying $40-60.
That’s…pretty true lol. Maybe they’ll get more money if the console versions have significant differences to the Vita version.
Yea, I know. I’ll probably never use it again. I’ve seen some games since that I wouldn’t mind supporting, but the developers tend to ask for too much in relation to what they’re offering when it comes to incentives. Like, $1-Nothing, $10-Nothing, $20-Your name in the credits, $50-All previous bonuses + free beta access. … :nono:
That’s another thing, I don’t need to be bribed with anything other then a good game. I don’t really support this “Donate 50 bucks and you get a t-shirt!” nonsense. I like the stretch goals system, that’s fine, but asking people to donate with the promise of loot is eh to me. If i where a donator I’d rather they spent the money used for the loot on the game itself. Put that loot money towards the stretch goals, I have enough T-Shirts and music CDs. But that’s mainly why i prefer to just buy when the product is done. I also hate spending money on a what if. I dunno what the quality of the thing I’m spending my money on is going to be…I’m not big on gambling.
I know it’s a silly stance because without the money they can’t make the product for me to buy in the first place. Thankfully there are other people who don’t have these hang ups so the game still gets made and i can still buy it when comes out. We all win!
Fact: You are a hypocrite for defending this game as a work in progress yet shitting on DmC when that was a work in progress.
Cosign…oh no I said cosign is RC going to ban me? I only noticed the bad run animation after reading FC’s post and watching the video a second time lol.
Oh and I’m sure there are some WayForward games you wouldn’t like at all if you played them, but yeah I’m a huge fan of theirs Contra 4 is one of my all time favorite games:
Heh yea, I probably wouldn’t like a lot of their licensed stuff like Spongebob an shit.
I will say that despite DmC being a work in progress at the time, everything about it looked like ass, the only thing here that looks like ass is the run animation.
@crotchpuncha Of course there is a world of difference between the minor complaint of MN9 and the many massive game changing ones of DmC. I was simply highlighting the hypocrisy and double standards many if not most SRK’ers have, the biased mentalities are so blatant and yet these people can type with a straight face they are within 9001 miles of being objective. I’m not saying it’s wrong to form an opinion about a game before it launches, hell that’s normal and to be expected. But, to hate and condemn a game so vehemently months before any actual game play footage is even shown let alone a playable demo be available, and then rush to another game’s defense citing it as a “work in progress” is the kind of immaturity I’d hope gamers would grow out of by their 20’s.
I’ve been reading SRK pretty much since it’s inception thanks to a friend who told me about the site in 2000, yet even now it still surprises me the vast majority of people here let their biases and prejudices take over and make keeping an open mind about anything game related an impossible feat for them. Like any other rational adult I don’t care at all what others think as I respect everyone’s opinion equally regardless of how uninformed and ignorant those opinions may be. That being said it’s less than ideal seeing a community I generally enjoy being a part of having an influx of people who regularly ruin otherwise intelligent conversation on something I’m passionate about, kind of like a quality platformer with a shitty underwater level lol
You’ve been here a short time and already picked up on this, impressive. No matter how clearly I may point out another poster’s logical fallacies 99% of them will deflect out of insecurity either calling my observation as bait or ignore it entirely or spend the next 10 posts using lots of big words to cover up the fact that they are in denial.
Objectivity when it comes to frivolous things like video games is really overrated.
For the record, I don’t believe I have ever claimed to be objective about anything concerning gaming…
***I am biased as all hell due to years and years of refining my tastes and preferences. ***
I don’t give most FPSes more than a passing glance, completely ignore sports titles, and very rarely play any RPGs made after 1999. However, I stand right the fuck up when a new stylish action, adventure, platformer, or unique hybrids of the two are announced.
There are companies who, by virtue of their record, will get cut a longer slack of my rope than others who have to work extremely hard to keep my attention for even a decent at best offering.
The phrase "FUCK CAPCOM" wasn’t just born overnight-- A decade plus of trolling, failure, and outright apathy and myopia have led to the near-instantaneous rage I feel whenever they poke their heads out from the cloud of fail that billows from the burning crater that was once their good PR and reputation.
You damn right Nintendo and Platinum get handled more lightly by me than shitty ass Capcom and Ubisoft… because they don’t treat me like an idiot who will buy whatever shit falls out of their ass.
Save that holier-than-thou, gaming snob shit for Neogaf or Kotaku, where that kind of own-fart-smelling hipsterism runs rampant.
Fuck pretentious pseudo-intellectualism.
