Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune's Next Mega Man

The F stands for “Foregone conclusion.”

I’m not surprised either… It seems like the majority of the backers/forum posters are heavily into anime and, by association, hentai, ecchi, lolis, and the like. Every vote is going to be saturated with stuff like this if there’s an option for it at this rate… sigh

Man people really do just want this to be Megaman 2.0

Disappointment abounds. Oh well.

Well I dunno what to tell you dawg, I think that’s the main reason everyone pooled in the money that they did.

I can’t blame them for wanting familiarity, but I can blame them for their poor taste, I personally liked option C

Yea i get that, and I’m really not surprised or anything but man…that bitch is Roll. It’s not even trying to not be, and it’s disappointing. Beck at least doesn’t look like a Trace over of Megaman.

F winning sets a bad precedent for future polls.

And you niggas complaining about loli don’t seem to realise alll the designs hit different types of loli archetypes nor the fact alot of designs were done H and/or non-h doujinshi artist.

Was C the pegasus one, regardless, that one was amazing

I’m okay with that. A lot of donators, especially the ones I’m seeing here on SRK, are fickle as fuck. How can you donate to a company and get mad over every little decision they make that you do not agree with. You CHOSE to support this man’s vision, not the idea of what you think it should be. Stop being babies over it.

I also fail to see how the design is anything “loli.” I think you all are just butthurt.

People in general are like that. I think I already touched on this in this thread, but the problem with crowdfunding is that people will make decisions on a whim. People get upset over the smallest things, and your funds can be held due to fear of chargebacks (Ask the Skullgirls team about that). Crowdfunding is great when it works, but when you can’t make little changes or additions to your project without fear of pissing off your donors and having funds withdrawn, that limits its appeal greatly.

The major problem with crowdfunding, ironically, is the crowd.

I hope this guy goes to private investors next time instead of using video game fanatics. It’s just way too much unwarranted drama.

This is why i don’t donate to kick starters. I only spend money on stuff that is done. The only one I;ve donated to is Wayfrowards Shantae Kickstarter, and only because they have a rep (I like their already made games) and they gave me Riskys Revenge for free.

Money on finished products is my motto. If i had donated tho i probably wouldn’t pull my own donation unless something disasterous happened tho, certainly not over a character design.

Even if it’s a small thing, they handled it wrong. If you silence the criticism and avoid addressing it properly, the small issue becomes a bigger issue or else why would you avoid it?

You can’t put all the blame on the overly sensitive crowd. The company side fucked up as well. (Maybe because they lacked an experienced PR guy when one was needed?)

This isn’t something anyone, experienced or no, would have seriously addressed. Using my experience in the field, I would just see it as a bunch of whiny little twats trying to find a way to seem more important than they are and trying to control something they had no imagination to create.

And I am glad they took the stance they did because too many people cave under pressure from a minority of people. Fuck you, grow up, and do your own thing if you want total control over something. Otherwise, deal with it.

People didn’t start with wanting to pull out. It happened after things escalated more and more (Dina trying to erase tweets, putting on an obvious facade, and basically doing mistakes out of sheer panic) and when people were asking hard questions they were greeted with censorship and banning.

The point is that Dina started a small fire, but if she were an experienced person for a job that’s all about handling people, she could have easily put the fire off, but instead her actions ended up adding more and more fuel to said fire until shit hit the fan.

“She didn’t play Megaman” is a dumb reason on its own, sure, but how would you call someone that can’t even handle such petty accusations? Are you really fit for the job if you can’t even provide a rebuttal to something as dumb as this? (Banning and censoring hard questions that don’t violate the terms of use is not a rebuttal, it just shows you can’t take the heat.)

If this game comes on out April 2015

then I may get the PS4 version via kick starter

In my opinion, F was the best design

Everybody being so fickle is EXACTLY why the Mega Man license is where its at now.

Voted for E but am OK (-ish) about F. I think F makes a lot of voters feel safe and comfy.

I want to agree, but Capcom isn’t exactly blameless either… Instead of riding the momentum they had with Mega Man 9 and try to parlay that into a new, HD, modern Mega Man game, they gave us… more of the same with Mega Man 10, ran the only guy that had a clue how to deal with the franchise out of the company, and then trolled the Mega Man fanbase relentlessly…
As if rubbing it in everyone’s faces that they weren’t going to do anything with the franchise but lame mobile games and shitty fangames.

It’s a modern-day miracle that Mega Man is even in a damn Smash Bros. cameo…

Yeah. Fuck. Capcom.
