Bad news - There will be no wifi at the hotel during MWC hours. All of the bandwith will be routed to the live-stream to ensure a smooth and clear stream. You will be able to use the free wifi at the hotel during non-event hours. Friday 6pm to 10pm, Saturday 12 noon to 2am, and Sunday 11am to 10pm, wifi will not be available.
I apologize for this, but the hotel had promised to have a 2nd line installed for the live stream and due to unforeseen circumstances, it will not be installed on time. Hopefully you guys will be too busy having fun during event hours to care that you cant jump on the net real quick.
I’ve also been getting questions about parking. Parking is free and there is plenty of it. There is also no need to pre-register for this event. Pre-registration was for time-planning purposes, and all official registsration will be taken at the event. You must be paid before your tournament starts. ** Do not expect to get in line to register at 11:55am because SSF4 starts at 12 noon.** You will be late if you do and will not be entering. Come early. Come down friday night and register between 6 and 10pm. See you guys this weekend!

Bleh, I was really hoping to go but my ride just bailed on me 30 minutes ago. Kinda sad since I’m from Chicago. The distance teases me. I’m pretty disappointed.
A quick suggestion: we might want to label systems with the Xbox Live Arcade / PSN fighters they have on them. It would only be Tournament-Helpful for the PS3’s that have HDR and MvC2 but would also save time for folks who want to play other fightan arcade games rather than sifting through the menus of each system.
I’ll for sure label my X360 with what it’s got (see: nearly everything).
Also, if Wifi is going to be locked up during the event do we want to have someone check all the systems on Friday night during set-up to make sure the updates are current?

Gandara - we can do that if possible, but i trust most competitive players have their software up to date.
I don’t know if somebody already mentioned this but, I was talking to Seb of Frame Advantage Dot Com a while ago, and he said he was interested in coming to MWC. I don’t know if he meant streaming, but that’s what he does so I think it’s safe to assume.
Level|Up is streaming MWC, as noted in the 1st post. If Seb comes, it will be to have fun.

Missed out on the 69 rooms but used priceline and got a room at the marriot 2 miles down the street for 59. see you friday to pre reg and pick up a stick bag for sure. I also just got a new asus gaming laptop so I can bring it and my two player happ coffin for some vanilla casuals. are there going to be casuals going on friday night?
Try to book at the event hotel via phone, then cancel your room down the road. It will be worth it to stay at the event hotel and I know there are rooms left. Call the hotel’s direct number, not the 1-800 number, and tell them you want a room for Midwest Championships.
I tried the 800 number first and they said they weren’t available, then I called the actual hotel and they said that the event was being handled by an outside agency and directed me back to the first 800 number. Then I called the hotel back and finally someone offered me a rate of 89$ a night .Then I was like fuck this and went on priceline.I have until friday to cancel my reservations with the marriot and switch. whats the crownes deal?
