There is a way bigger scene of Pro Evolution Soccer players. There are some really good ones in Kuwait.

Seems the place is quite a draw for tourists, and really need to get some practice in.

Man, I lived in UAE for most of my life, the scene was really hype back in the 90s! Anxious to see what it’s like now, does Dubai have any good arcades as of right now?
Hey… I just talked to one of my friends in Kuwait, he told me as of now theres 2 Tekken 6 cabs and 1 Tekken 6:BR. No sf4 yet though.
We used to have a 3s machine here in Abu Dhabi, but no more =/ … So we only gather up and play it on PS2.
We got 2 Tekken 6 BR machines here too! and 2 SFIV! But I’m only talking about Abu Dhabi. Wouldn’t know about Dubai =/
I think there’s a “versus-city” style SF4 setup in the same shopping mall where the Tekken 6 machines are, but it’s in a newer “play-area” so maybe not many people have seen them?
I’m from Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. There isn’t much a scene for fighters here, especially in regards to 2D fighters. There is the rare group of gamers that play Tekken and Soul Calibur but I just loathe 3D fighters. The only games that get taken seriously around here are Winning Eleven, a soccer game 
, and Counter Strike. There are also some WoW centric internet cafes that a few of my buddies go to.
To the best of my knowledge there are no decent arcades where I live, if there were any I’d know about it. All of them are run-down kiddie arcades with barf inducing smells and hoards of prepubescent punks. There’s no way in hell that there would be anything that would closely resemble Denjin, FFA or Arcade UFO in regards to the quality of people, cabs, parts, service, and pretty much everything. I’ve tried GGPO and the lag is horrendous due to being half the world away from any competition so I stick to playing my brother, there really isn’t anyone around to play 3S or any SF with.
Oh yes. To those who made the wisecracks about Arabs and terrorism: it’s unappreciated, it’s old and it isn’t funny. Try the trailer park across the street or your local redneck bar. Keep that shit out of SRK.

I’m a dedicated arcade gamer in Kuwait, in that place called White Tower (Burj al Abyath in arabic). It’s a nice small dedicated shop, with all sanwa sticks and buttons (though some need replacement). I used to spend most my time playing Guilty Gear, but with now BlazBlue out no more time for that. The place has insane KOF players, this is just an example:

And since we have a KOFXII cab, they’re all being dedicated to that now. Along with that we have Tekken 6: BR (with some insane players). The biggest thing that is missing I feel is Street Fighter 4, it was hooked up via PS3 to an HD screen but just wasn’t the same. The SF pros just stay and play online with each other, and recently there was a huge huge tournament held in Kuwait for SF4, which you can see in this clip below (skip to 1:10 for tourney coverage):

And now with BlazBlue out, we have a lot of people playing that. We are very dedicated gamers, and even more a dedicated community, with a very high level of play. Canto stanast?
