I’ve been meaning to get on 10 from 8.
I guess I should grab it before the free deal expires.
Yeah, I can see being on 7 and going “Okay, I like this a lot and am comfy, I see no real need to upgrade…”

I have several laptops with Windows 8, won’t be upgrading them to 10.
I also have a laptop with clean Windows 10 install, but it’s not the same Windows 10 that normal consumers have access to.
Win 10 been mostly great for me this past year since I installed it last July. I had an instance where an update began forcefully installing when I tried to shut my PC down when it started raining hard. A power surge happened during the installation process and nearly killed my PC. Couldn’t boot, had to reinstall Win 10. Thankfully updates aren’t as frequent anymore.
I also hate the fact that Microsoft is putting apps on Win 10 devices secretly. I go in my start menu sometimes and suddenly there’s apps I never had before, like Microsoft Wi-Fi and Microsoft Sway. Somebody is going to call them out on this shit eventually.
Curses - my kid’s computer I think just blew its motherboard. Guess that means I’m stuck buyin’ a new copy of Win 10 for when I replace it, seeing as how it’s only the freebie upgrade that has that hardware change clause.
Basically, it wouldn’t recognize the keyboard/mouse any longer on any USB port (like, even at POST, no LED lightups, “no keyboard found” on the BIOS, etc.), and would freeze during the spinning circle part of the Win 10 boot process. Pretty sure that means I’m boned in the hardware department.

Agreed. My laptop was on 8, upgraded to 10, love it.
My desktop is on 7 … and I’m probably staying there until MS stops supporting it.
I just didn’t see a reason to keep with 7. If anything, I can just go back and install 7 if I really want to go back to it but I can’t see that happening.
*I upgraded to 10 from 8.1 last week and I dig it so far. The only thing I miss is the right side screen swipe to quickly search for something. Other than that 10 has been solid to me. *

Sometimes apps like SETTINGS open with some delay. I guess it’s due to file inconsistencies from win8. So, I am running SFC command
But so far no problems with win10.
A woman sued Microsoft over the forced installation of Windows 10 on her machine and won. MS gave her some chump change ($10,000) not wanting to appeal.
