When did you take the plunge? I remember day 1 of launch they released a 1gig patch.
There have been plenty of articles of the problems people faced since launch, like the copy paste bug that prevented ctrl+c from working
Apparently the reboot bug is one of the more recent ones, it came about through a windows update back in Feb that included a tweak that meant win10 would be forcibly installed onto the system rather than sit around and wait for you.
I give up trying to get their stupid store to work, I even reversed all my Windows 10 blocks to try and get it to work. I called Microsoft and they had no answers.
I give up Microsoft, I’ll just play KI when you fix your store or let me download it off a browser like a normal human being.
I’ve never bothered with Windows Store. I have no idea what’s in there. All I’ve done is use Classic Shell to replace the start menu and that’s it.
I did have to change the compatibility settings on the EXE for GTA III to Windows 7 because for some reason it wouldn’t run in its default video mode (640 x 480 fullscreen) without compatibility on. Once I changed it from it’s in-game settings to my desktop res I could turn compatibility off and it will run fine. Weird.
If they’re forcing it to play KI then you’re probably never going to be able to play it without it. If KI uses DirectX library versions that aren’t available in previous Windows versions, then you’re stuck with 10 or do without KI.
It might be something else in Windows 10 or DirectX they need (XInput maybe?) I can’t recommend it without knowing another person’s system specs. My laptop was made in 2009, has a Radeon HD 9200 and came with Windows 7, and aside from that one GTA III issue it’s run pretty ok. I really do need a new system though because Linux isn’t going to last much longer for it when the best I can do for Linux Mint is the Precise distro.
I upgraded today, from Windows 8.1. Everything’s pretty smooth so far. Just had half of my pinned Start screen icons dropped for some reason, but no big deal otherwise. Haven’t tested out any of my games yet, though.
Bash coming to Windows 10 is pretty great. Would have been useful when I was rearranging my entire file structure (I’m smooth at working with bash scripts, but I don’t know shit about cmd and batch files).
I’ve actually noticed a prolonged boot time. Without Fast Startup, Windows 8.1 was booting in under 10 seconds. Windows 10 takes about 30 seconds.
I can’t turn on Fast Startup because Grub can’t boot Windows from that IIRC. I’m not sure if anything has changed with Ubuntu 15.xx or Windows 10, but yeah for the latest Ubuntu LTS and Windows 8.1 you can’t boot from Grub with Fast Startup on.
Any suggestions? I have no problems with graphics drivers (Intel HD Graphics only), which seems to be the popular solution online. I’ve also been very vigilant in the past about programs auto-launching on startup, so I don’t think that’s the problem.
You have KI on pc, and aint playing with me and @“Phantom Angel” . @RockBogart you sucka. haha
Also, this dude just sounds like he has issues with his shit. I have windows 10, upgraded my girl to windows 10, and its been fantastic for both of us.
