Michigan Unite

Oh snap! Good stuff, does anyone else know if all that is still there or if there’s ever a nice crowd there? Planning to go on some random weekdays while I’m home.

Bah… well just a heads up, looks like the arcade at oakland is relocating within the mall. At least thats the vibe I got when I was there. The place where it normally was, was dark with a sign saying that it moved to another place within the mall. When I checked over where it said that it was, all the lights were off and it looked like machines were still in the process of getting moved around. Meh.

check out this tournament in gonna run

to bad its soul calibur.

I was going to say, throw in ST or CvS2 or something and I’m there.

(evil laughs)

FOOLISH FLESH CREATURES!! I, The Deity, will destroy ALL in Soul Calibur IV. (evil laughs)

Throwing another CvS2 tournament next Saturday in anticipation of SBs III in which I hope to go.

Details here.

I might go, as long as I’m not the only guy who’s going to show up.

Does anyone know if either of the Pete’s will attempt to get SFIV? Or are they just trying not to get any business?

I can’t speak for A2, but I don’t see any indication of it in EL. If anything, fighting games are slowly being squeezed out by ticket games, which are a recent addition here.

Thats a damn shame. I would actually drive an hour and a half every weekend to play some SFIV. Oh well.

For the like, 2 people that are on here but not MIG, Tekken 6 is now up at the arcade in Oakland Mall.

I’m betting they’re a better chance of SF4 than Pinball petes at this point.

It’s comin! http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=164608

Boo for ST not being there.:arazz:

Count that as more of a guarantee. They are beginning to take serious interest in getting the game. Pinball Pete’s hasn’t been the same since they turned down hosting the 2007 May Tournament (Ultimate Mayn Event).

For those unaware (seeing a lot of posts from newer people), I’m the one who pushed Tekken 6 for their facility, among other things.

Hopefully, they’ll get it since it’ll only take me 15 minutes to get there. If Pete’s gets either T6 or SF4, then they’ll bring business back in a big way.

Hey, what’s up Markudea

Unfortunately, not necessarily…

They have no clue where to even begin with Tekken 6 - They’ve lost a TON of money alone just by AFC getting the jump on them and the rest of the state. People will still play it, but they’ve all but totally lost their customer base/loyalty in the fighting game area. And the more they wait for Tekken 6, the more they’ll lose money based on:

A) AFC having the statewide exclusive
B) The fact that they’ll inch closer to a console release - to which gamers at this day and age prefer…thus, won’t play at AFC
C) The inability to strategically act in order to remain competitive with the rest of the arcade community

The one true benefit I can see is that it would widen the base of Michigan Gamers, since (IMO) AA Pinball Petes is still the best located arcade in Michigan. We could certainly use something like that…to the days similar to Tekken Tag and CvS2, where there were numerous groups of gamers in different areas of the state. But they need to get it within 2 months to even make that relevant. If so, SF4 may be at AFC around then. They’ve dropped the ball like Roy Williams.

Went there Saturday night. No CvS2, no 3S. I turned around and left.

That’s not good at all. At least they have T6, I guess.

Kalonji, Confirm whether or not AA PP is getting sf4, somone posted about it on gamefaqs.
