well, on this shit talking note…what is up with no one coming to ann arbor on saturday for the cvs2/3s tourneys? i know people still play cvs2, people played it at lycan’s tournament a few weeks ago, and at fng friday night. I would just like to know why people don’t want to come play us. Is ann arbor too far away? is saturday a bad day for tournaments? do people not want to play ann arbor people for some other reason? please let us kow so we don’t waste ou time trying to throw arcade tournaments to bring the MI fighting scene together more, cuz that is what we are trying to do, but if nobody is going to show up ever please let us know, and let us know why, don’t just pretend like we aren’t posting about this shit, cuz that just makes it look like nobody is confident enough to play us when money is on the line, and i know that is not the case.

Just to jump in on this thread, I dont know the problems michigan crew has had in the past, and actually I really wish I would have been in on this shit when it was really hot. I hope at this point I haven’t offended anyone being loud at FNG (tho I doubt thats the case), and as far as Im concerned everyone Ive met gaming have been really cool, I didnt expect to be part of such a dedicated group of gamers, tho Ive wanted to. About people not playing at ann arbor, two things, shitty controls, and lack of competition. I have to drive 30 minutes to find out wether or not Im gonna have competition, while if I go to FNG or MOK’s Im guaranteed atleast someone to play against, or potentially some fierce competition. I would love to see more 3s players get serious, in fact, I would like to see people getting back into Cvs2, Hyper Fighting, Super turbo, pretty much anything. At this point if someone wants to sit down and train with me in nearly any fighting game, and theres something to learn from the experience, Im down. I dont give a shit how many times I lose, skill is about all I care about anymore. Pretty soon deandre is going to have an arcade machine, and I know if hes free we’ll be able throw tournies etc on a machine with GOOD controls, on arcade perfect copys of the games. So once that happens, I challenge everyone to Hyper Fighting, Super Turbo, Alpha 3, Third Strike, whatever, I have the hardware, I just need somewhere to hook it up. Robo, Id really like to thank you (and from what I understand VDO), for running FNG all this time, with out it I dont think there would be a single one of us doing much of anything besides beating up a CPU, FNG keeps the spirit of competition alive in this state as far as Im concerned, it gives everyone something to train for, even if there arent any tourneys to speak of anymore. I really hope everyone here is still waiting for the day that we have a chance to throw real tourneys again, cause I know all I want is some fucking competition. None of this was meant to offend anyone trying to help out the scene, I appreciate monsterzodd and judgementday attempting to run tourneys and all, but at the end of said tourneys, all I feel is jipped. Playing at an arcade that could give a fuck about you, the time you spent honing your skills, etc. on sticks that should have been replaced 6 years ago, hardly does the games or the players justice. In all thank you everyone for being there, and hopefully someday well all be able to truely show our skills.

BTW…VDO is just one of the “original” FNG crew (a highly skilled member)…unfortunately he has moved out of the state and just visits from time to time.

Please take these numbered points into account.

Know that winter time has never been much of a completive time for people in Michigan (from what Ive seen). I know quite a few people do not like to travel long distances in the cold. Sunny days are much more applicable for that sort of thing.

Also, limit the number of tournaments to no more than two per month. If you throw tournaments constantly, people being to feel like “oh… i can just catch the next one.”

Realize that a lot of players in the metro Detroit area do not enjoy paying money for games they can play for free. When you consider the cost of driving to a destination, parking, entering the tournament, and putting coins in the machine and compare that to the cost of taking the bus down to wsu or possibly catching a ride to a buddy house for free and you see that one option has clear advantages over the other (both in terms of money and ease)
