Why does best buy think I’m going to pay 80 for a 1’ usb cord for my phone if I could just spend $30 and get a wireless adapter for it instead?
They are banking on the gamble that the general public will fall for such a ruse…Sadly, they are correct.
Back from days off from my computer since I finally had my new tower built. Thanks a lot Ivy. You’re a big help. Happy New Year everyone!!! Hey Robo. Have you becoming unstoppable in NGBC or have you hear any yet about Samurai Shodown Tenka pre order yet?( the game is out on Jan 22 for import PS2)
Deity, you color edit with Hanzou and Fumma won’t help you in NGBC. I’ll will destory you!!! HA HA HA HA HA!
(evil laughs)
Silly flesh creature, you’ll destroy I, The Deity, only if I allow it. (evil laughs)
HA…I wish.
Bum material still, however, don’t under estimate my** Tung Fu Rue** and Mudman of death. I’m still having trouble finding a comfortable pad/joystick to play it with.
So far, no one is accepting pre-orders for KOF XI or SST yet, if they do I will let you know in case you want to buy it through me again.
LOL…I see Capcom people have switched over to NGBC (SNK)…lol.:cybot:
i wish i had a copy of it, just to practice up my Cyber Woo and AI.
Maybe, JUST MAYBE, if I can get this job at Blue Cross Blue Shield, I’ll splurge a bit, buy myself a boot disk for PS2 from Masquerade, and get myself some NGBC. JUST SO I CAN PRACTICE UP FOR YOU GUYS!! …cause seriously, I need to bat some tetris blocks at someone. :wgrin:
Although, maybe we’ll pop in something else next time? Like, 3rd strike, SSBM, or Naruto (still haven’t seen that new PS2 one yet!). Nothing against NGBC – but variety is still the spice of life.
Indeed. We play other games, but NGBC was new…thats why it consumed the entire evening.
Actually, that comment was a sarcastic poke at some other members of the Michigan community that were STAUNCH Capcom advocates, and now I here at least 2 of them have actually bought the game (NGBC)…its just funny to me.
I mean a few months ago they were calling SNKP a trash company.
It still is as far as actually putting forth a decent effort to put together a fighting game is concerned… just imagine how much better a game it would be if, some of that time and memory devoted to making all those extravagant backgrounds was instead used for the character sprites? Capcom is even a crappier company on the simple premise that it doesn’t give a shit about its fans, however, don’t confuse Capcom being shitty for SNKP being worth a fuck either.
The sprites in Battle Colosseum look damn good. Higher resolutions do that, you know.
Fact:
Capcom has practically abandoned its 2D fighting game fan base, and please…don’t even mention Capcom Fighting Jam.
Fact:
SNKP continues to support its 2D fighting game fan base which has some Capcom fans crossing lines.
So what exactly is your point since your comments seem to be in response to my post?
What part of what I said is not true, cheese?
(respectfully)
MC, PM me or call me about SSTenka pre-order asap.
i believe this is the 4th color that avatar has gone through now, Robo. I’m amused easily, and watching as your avatar changes near-daily is something I chuckle at.
I’ve always liked SNK’s products a lot…and it’s always hard for me to say which company’s fighting games I like better. Capcom’s got a good set of characters, wondeful animation and graphics, and sometimes, they have a nearly-balanced set of characters. SNK’s line-up is a good set of characters (a little heavy on the power-infused martial-artists like Kyo, Iori, Ryo, Athena, fast-character-with-powers, if you ask me), decent graphics, great animation, and seem to be more balanced than most fighting games out there. These, are just my opinions/personal observations.
And personally, I believe balance is the key to a great game. Thus, SNK’s series are always high up on my list, but I love 3rd Strike so much due to parrying, super-choices, unique characters, etc., that it’s hard for me to choose.
(evil laughs)
FOOLISH FLESH CREATURES!! Nothing is safe from I, The Deity, in Neo-Geo Battle Coliseum. (evil laughs)
ah… the sprites in NGBC look bad come on. Sprites in KOF games have been getting worse since 2k, and in some cases 99. Tons of cut animations etc etc.
Also NGBC has a lot of fucked up stuff that SNK should just be ashamed of. What about ioris madien masher the explosion on it is red/yellow/orange fire… Yet the character is purple… WTF is that? I dont even remember seeing that problem in the regular version of the game. How the hell did they screw that one up?
Also final showdown is UUUUUUGLY looking in NGBC. How can you look at that move in say 98 etc and then say it looks in any good in NGBC. They replaced a cool explosion with a big rectangluar pillar of crap looking thing, and theres no even big smack of fire at the end. He just punchs you. It looks just as bad as it does in CVS. How can snk ruin there own moves… Its sad.
anyway yea come on I like kof and stuff but NGBC is ugly. The back grounds are pretty nice though ill give them that. But thats about it.
So…you’re going to cry because they changed the animations and effects of moves?
Well…that’s just stupid. The sprites themselves look good, the animation certainly was about 5 times better than GGXX’s “if we make them move fast enough no one will notice it’s only 3 frames”, and as you stated, the backgrounds were good.
Gameplay is solid, all the bells and whistles is solid…all you’re really doing at this point is nitpicking your personal tastes.
dude I was just useing the move as a example. The game does not look good. Kof 98 looks better then it. Come on. Also as for gg? Ah I dunno why you are bringing that up, but no GG animates better then NGBC. Come on dude 5 X better? Whats wrong with you. Maybe a kof like 98 or something has decent animation but NGBC does no animate well.
Even the “new” characters look bad. How can you look at say hanzo and fuma or whatever there name is they animate horribly. Have you seen there sweep? What game has 3 frames of animation?
Uh… the sprite animation is still choppy. The sprites themselves are not newly drawn, but rehashs of old ones. This is a pointless argument because I am arguing with someone who claims GGXX sprites make moves fast to coverup the low frame-rate. Yet there is exactly 1 3-frame move in the game. NGBC is a pretty good game as far as gameplay goes (from the brief amount I played it), however, seriously lets not pretend it was made as well as a 2-D game should be when it is 2006.
To answer Robotron… nothing you said was inherently untrue. SNKP is still trying to fulfill fans. Capcom dicked their fans by not making any games worth a damn after CvS2… which coincidentally was still using rehashed sprites. All I said was, Capcom being a terrible fighting game company because they screwed their fans, while SNKP is doing more than Capcom, does not automatically mean SNKP is doing a great job.
As for “Capcom” fans jumping over. Well when its 4 years since the last fighting game worth a damn is released by them will make fans do that. However I’ve never BSed myself into believing their is anything such as a “Capcom fan” and a “SNKP fan”. People who care about playing fighting games will play any fighting game if it is fun; it is accessible to them; they have competition; and/or the game is worth a damn. Thats why a “Capcom fan” like myself has played alot of Mark of the Wolves. Then again I don’t play shit anymore. What do I know.
(physical form)
WHOA, WHOA, and WHOA! Watch what you’re saying here, little young man. Hanzou and Fuuma have ABOVE GREATNESS animations. Their special moves and super moves are just too great and I made them top tier. Don’t you EVER in your life talk down about Hanzou & Fuuma, 2 of the greatest characters in existence. (evil laughs)
No, no, no…I didn’t say Capcom fans all over the world, I think I mentioned 2 locally (that I know of) in the SRK Michigan family…thats all.
As far as graphics…I thought the game looked pretty good. Could they do better? Probably. But In a world of practically NO 2D fighters being made, I was satisfied with the final product.
I think people have been spoiled by Guilty Gear and the “high rez” craze. Guilty Gear is that rare game that graphics equal gameplay…a rare thing indeed. But don’t let high rez fool you, take “The Rumblefish” for instance…that game had graphics to die for, heck…it was made by Dimps/Sammy on the GGXX engine. I can’t get anyone @ FNG to play it. So I’m guessing it has some serious gameplay issues. Which would you rather have? A good game like NGBC with solid gameplay and (as you and FS says: Blocky Sprites or whatever) or The Rumblefish which looks great but has no gameplay value?
meh.
I’ll take NGBC anyday. At some point, I’ll assume SNKP will catch up to your expectations…it’ll definately happen before Capcom makes anything “high rez” (Third Strike looked terriffic, so did MVC2). Had Capcom made CVS3 or MVC3 or even Capcom All Stars…I’m 100% positive it would’ve made money…possibly more money than their current Resident Mid-Evil (which I hate) franchise…simply because it would have had huge arcade revenue as well as console unit sales.
Capcom has got to be “GALACTICALLY STUPID” for discontinuing their extremely successful fighting game series…987187160816598017261 times more stupid than SNKP could ever f*cking be…even if they made 10 SVC Chaos games.
Thanx, PiMacleod for the avatar props…as you can see, I have nothing better to do. Did you still want me to make you and Topper an av?
Just to say acctualy I think rumble fish looks horrible. Lol as a matter of fact I think tis one of the worst looking games ive seen in years.
