I’m trying to 1cc Gradius 5…however I can’t seem to beat the robot boss at the end of stage 3 without sacrificing a ship…do you know of a way to 1cc that boss?

I haven’t 1cced that boss yet, but I think I see how it’s supposed to be done. Basically, I think you would do best with the double shot attack, since it fires upward. Also, having enough speedups so that you can spread out your options enough to be at it’s core helps. From there it’s more of watching out for falling blocks and getting the hell behind something when it does the big beam. If you have a shield the turrets shouldn’t be too difficult to deal with.

btw, i checked out your site, and I know some of those guys! example: George Massu. runs Halo tournaments out of an organization called MVP Gaming. Actually hung out with him and a few people playing some Halo 1. I recognize a few other faces there, but not the handles. If these same people are frequent FNG-rs, then this might turn out to be another ‘small world’ moment.

Next time I come by I’ll bring that Gradius 5 bonus DVD with me…it has a guy going through the first 5 or so levels without getting killed-a sort of perfect run. The attempts through that I’ve based off of what I saw in that have helped me stay alive tremendously.

lol if the ps2 starts running ggx2 slow again and no one else can see it…I’ll demonstrate it by running both ps2 and xbox at the same time (just one sweep should be able to show the difference)
