Alex wasn’t there at first, because the match was originally supposed to be on machine 2 (which was replaced by another faceoff). Alex arrived and they played on machine 1.
John Choi did get a “Bye” the first round from what I saw on DreamTR’s bracket.

I was not there in person this year. My comments are based on a blow by blow description given to me by cellphone from TECHNO…someone who did attend and someone who I trust for straight, unbiased information.
I would like to also commend the new people who decided to test the waters out of state this year like Liokaiser, Corey, Vel, Lycan, and Nick (did he attend 2002’s MWC? Not sure). Hopefully they’ll take this experience to D-Town/Michigan.
Other missed side notes:
VDO played a lot of AGroovers, but had some good comebacks too, especially the first 2 re-entry matches. VDO’s only main problem that I saw was Fubarduck’s AGroove Blanka (who, BTW eliminated VDO from the CvS2 tourney, and the winners bracket of the re-entry tourney). Sure there were other ‘given’ problems (because CM was right about that whole ‘AGroove versus P/K Groove’ deal), but I think this stood out the most. Even the Cali crew was complaining after the Raging Storm bit, respectfully, of course. VDO was 2 wins away from qualifying.
Shawn Hunter’s Spiral was seriously locking fools down once he got in the losers bracket in MvC2. RedDevil also did some damage.
Nick Karoukis got seriously robbed at the end of CvS2 during losers re-entry. Still a good game that could’ve gone either way…to the point where I would said the same thing to the guy he was facing if he lost.
DeAngelo for some reason, did not enter MvC2 (?!)
Alex was surprisingly one of the most used characters in 3rd Strike during the weekend and in tourney play. Not on par with Ken and ChunLi usage, but I think he was played more than Yun.

Damn…what i miss. Hmm…clerance got 3rd in SVC chaos? Which means I would’ve got 1st with kasumi. Geese, zero, and the other hidden characters are not match for kasumi. Some are overpowered than kasumi but she eats every projectile thats thrown to her. Her close super is too powerful. Anywho i wouldn’t have won anyhow.

…Hey Hey wassup crew! It’s been awhile for me postin on Shoryuken, and will prolly be another while before I do it again. The trip was GREAT! Had a great time with the fellas and all. It was very relaxing as well as challenging.
…Alot of great players in their respective areas, congrads to all who won. My man the Diety surly represented.
…I did ok against some of the 3rdS players, most whooped my azz fo sho. But i can honestly say that I’ve learned a few things while I was there, which made the trip a non-waste (beside chillin wit da fellas). I played my character to the best of my knowledge, and when I lost I didn’t bitch about it or call em cheap. I shook their hands and tried to regroup. But I feel that the fellas should at least learn how to RC if they going to continue to play CvS2 on a professional level, because peeps are going to continue to use that shit no matter how much we bitch about it. Blanka’s RC IS BS, so just pick Blanka and do dat shit right back on em. I don’t like it…but hey…what else is there to do besides not playing. Rule change when moneys involved.
…On the home front is just the place to practice everything. We’ve been to sweet on each other by not throwing, combos, ect. I mean damn aren’t we friends. I sure non of us are going to fist fight if we loose to our own. Hell! teach me dat shit.
…I guess I should elab on what I told RoBo. Juan follow JW around the whole arcade basicly asking for a challenge in CvS2. Somehow that never happened. I wonder why? Well, I guess he didn’t want to let a known champ get a jump on his style just yet. I known mind tactic so I guess you can’t hate on that either.
…Diety was right. Not knowing is what beat him in Puzzle Fighter.

I coach becuz I care. Keep in mind, I coach VDO’s ass, too. It took me 3-4 months to get him to use Ken’s Hurricane kick in an air combo in MvC2. He listens eventually…
I ain't the best player at Wizzards. I never claim to be. But, what I can do is analyze a player, or character, and have an acute understanding of how that player or person plays, and find ways to make them better. If I offend anyone by giving them advice, so be it. Forgive me for trying to give something back to the community.:)
