You show me one person who doesn’t try to improve at a game they really like. I love R-Type Final, so I’ve worked on improving my high score. I love Sam Sho 2, so I’m working on improving my game in that. I love Halo, so obviously I’ve been working on improving in that. If someone has a passion for a game, they’ll strive to get better.
Don’t be doggin the collectors, I’d say they’ve done more then anyone knows to preserve alot of the history behind the gaming industry. Hell Robotron’s game room alone is a veritable museum you can play.
Yes, everyone has been reading your post…saying you are using strange comments is in understatement. You are basically dissing all the competitive players on this forum. You came on here to say that using combos from the interent is wrong/stupid when you know people do that and you expect no one to get riled up? What is the point of not using it? You obviously want people to lose? looking up vids on the internet are not always for “stealing” as you call it…its seeing what poeple are doing new techniques and what have you so that you can be ready if and when you go out of state. You are saying that you should just go and get suprised and owned by something that could been stopped have you only kept up on the new vids …thats just one use out of many reasons that “internet videos” are good. People are not going to get better playing local gay ass comp that does the same thing over and over its just not going to happen. You always talk about how people on here play all day everyday and want to be the new ricky or choi…again not true…all the GOOD players here hardly play at all can you believe that? no one is trying to be those mf’s they just want to be really sweet at something they like a lot. you seem to think different and tell people that they play all day no matter what they say to you (im using the time you told cm all he did was play even after he told you he doesnt.) The programmers knew about the r.c. glitch etc… whatever and they left it in. Could it be that they were aware of the ability to turtle in this game and still win. Or the other tactic of jumping back in a corner and getting wins that way. The point that I am trying to make is that there are many ways to win at CVS2. Having these different ways makes for some really random bullshit tourney victories… for instense when some one uses a ratio 4 Sagat or even Raiden and wins a tourney.
Ok, so you throw in roll cancelling in which only skilled gamers will be able to consistenly do the move during any given time (casual or tourney play). If you do not perfect r.c.ing then you will not be able to bring your level of gaming up to your opponents level. You most likely will lose. You learn to r.c. with consistancy then your opponent will respect that fact and it breaks the game back down to a normal fight in which the better man wins not r.c.ing.
I only started roll cancelling because I am good at it and after Chicago I realized to either give up the game, play P or K groove or start roll cancelling more. Before I would roll cancel selectively. Now I want every fuckin’ move to be r.c.ed. Basically evolving my entire game around it.
The game isn’t as fun anymore. Only the ROLL CANCEL FACES makes it worth it anymore.

Better late than never…You said you were done after tuff daddy posted somethings then you went on to make another comment on how you are looked down on because you do not look up vids on the internet or whatever…what you do is your business (obviously) no cares if you look up vids online or use someone elses shit. What i didnt like was that you essentially called out all the competitive players saying it was to stupid to learn or grow as players . You started this arguement…we think its stupid to play casual for just fun anyone can pick a few characters jump around on the screen and lose…thats not fun. However none of us come on here and say “casual players are the scum of the earth” even though we might be thinking that (im not saying that i am thinking that) but im really just confused as to why you would bring something up like this and then get suprised when it is blown out of proportion.
Yeah. I was excited about CvS2, and it was fun those first few months when you had alot of people playing and you saw alot of shit, but there’s not much depth to the game. RC this move, do this custom combo, poke, and what else? It got boring. Other people liked it, they got better, good for them. I got tired of it, I stopped playing it, I got worse at it, good for me.
Obot has a passion for CvS2. But what you didn’t get was that I was saying anyone can have a passion for any game they enjoy, a passion to improve their game and get better. You completely miss that and go on about obot being all about cvs2. Guess what? I’m all about Halo. I’ve been goin out of my way to improve at that game ever since my buddies and I started playing it again a few months back. You can’t say that no one else has shown as much passion as obot for cvs2. How much would you care if Robo started posting up his high scores in Zanac Neo? How much would you care if I talked about dominating a Halo team that no one on here knows(Speaking of which, George, let me know you’re having a halo night, I think I found someone who’s willing to be the wheels out there if it means playing some good halo players)? Hell I don’t even think you’d give a shit if I talked about my domination in Sam Sho 2 the other day. It’s a fighting game forum, and for the most part, a Capcom one, and going on about improving in other games, I doubt most people give a shit on here.
And I have yet to meet any collectors dissing on people for learning higher strategies…more like envy that they don’t have that kind of passion to learn those things. Collectors are a pretty friendly group overall. Except a good number of neo geo collectors, who seem to thrive on drama. I remember them goin after my boy Chris just because he sold converted arcade carts that weren’t available officially on the home system. But I digress.

If ppl want to compete with what’s outside their home, they have to find out what is out there. Robo, you don’t look at internet videos for whatever reason, and that is your perogative. There is nothing wrong with that. But to ridicule others for seeking the knowledge that could help them win, is unfair. Saying that, and not wanting a backlash is equal to punching someone in the face, and immediately telling them “I don’t want to fight you.”
Way I see it, if you can game as much as you want, be good at it, and STILL take care of your family, business, life, etc, you get mad props from me(Techno, Ali, Keshawn, etc).
Videos are simply one medium to distribute knowledge for others to obtain. good or bad, RCing or super combos, its available. I was hearing you on that one post, Tuff D. Its all a matter of what one wants to find. I personally watch any video based on CvS2,3S, A3, ST. I got 5GB of videos on my computer for reference, or leisure. Why? just to know it. Plain and simple.

Um, Robo, I was in no way taking a shot at you. Where would you get that impression? Just because I disagree with something does not mean I am against you. No need to take what I said personal. If you can find where in my post, I took a shot at you, please point it out.
