Team Tournament weekly this Friday

We’re having a Team Tournament weekly this Friday! 11/10/06 :wgrin:

Format:

2 man teams

Both people must use different characters

Best of one

Single elimination

Entry fee is $2 total

Game Newton format: [Team one is composed of Player 1 and 2, Team two is composed of player 3 and 4. Player 1 plays Player 3, then Player 2 plays Player 4. If Player 1 beats Player 3, but Player 2 loses to Player 4, then Player 1 will fight Player 4 to determine what team advances. If one team dominates the other, then that isn’t necessary.]

Signups start at 8, we will end signups at 9. Tourney begins immediately after.

Winning team takes the entire pot.

If you can’t find a partner, ask around. There are generally folks that are looking for a teammate as well.

Hope to see you there!

A team tourney @ 2 bux? Thats not at 2pm? Nice.

Goodbye for now

**I remember back in elementary school when I would hit up the arcade just to play some Street Fighter I. Very few people played it but I loved the games unique style and potential.

Street Fighter II was released a few years after and the whole world blew up with Street Fighter madness, so you can imagine how happy I was to see my favorite game at that time get a sequel. I would wake up early on the weekdays and walk over to 7 Eleven to get a few games in before school started, somtimes a little TOO many games in that I’d often be late for class. I loved fighting games especialy Capcom fighting games and it was very difficult to get my mind off of them. When Street Fighter III: New Generation hit the US I was all over it. Playing serious became important to me and this was about the time when I first met some of my good friends to this today, I was 16 years old. In 1999 3rd Strike went BETA testing at SVGL and right when I drop that token in and hit start I knew Capcom had another hit. It’s been about 7 years since then and I’ve met a lot of people, made a lot of friends(as well as enemies sadly) as well as bringing my home town’s local arcade into the spot light.

I’ve done a lot of thinking this past year and with no new Street Fighter sequel after so long I’ve decided to seriously stop playing. I love the fighting community but it’s time for me to go for now. Keep doing what you guys do best and stay true to what you believe in. Who knows…maybe Capcom will make and release Street Fighter IV somday but until then I must go. Hold down the fort for me guys! I know you can do it.**

CPS

That’s a sad story.

POWER VACUUM!

Joe just needs a little vacation from Street Fighter, he’ll be back.

Joe, you’re just going on vacation. K, thx =]

does mgl still have that 6 pm special on wednesdays and all day special on thurs?

Joe, you will be missed. I’m sure you will be back though! Just look at me. Even Pump it Up couldn’t keep me away for too long. XD

That team tourney thing sounds tight, I hope i can make it…i’ll just have to drive like crazy from work.

Concerning the Team Tournament:

I had originally posted with 3s soley in mind [sorry!], but realized that both CvS2 and, to a lesser extent, MvC2 can also have a weekly tourney. The problem is this: CvS2 has been notorious in not having enough people for a single-entry weekly, let alone a Team tournament. Marvel is pretty much the same thing [though it should be known that MGL is not a Marvel hotspot]. So unless there is a sudden influx of Marvel interest for a weekly this Friday, it’s most likely there will be no Marvel TT. :[

So that leaves CvS2. Come by. There needs to be a minimum of 4 teams [8 total people]. If there aren’t, it’ll just be a 3s TT.

3S Team Tourney of 11/10/06 (8 teams of 2)

1st: Team Idiocy Srs. (Jimmy/Corey)

Edit: CvS2 had 2 teams [4 people] when roll call came around. I think two more people showed up after [Will was one] but would have still been short. :\ CvS2 guys: Tell your buddies about the weekly, and maybe we’ll be able to get a tourney going. Should be a singles weekly next Friday.

I would have been down for the CvS2 team tourney (I thought it was just 3s), but first thing’s first though. Someone needs to get the sound on the head-to-head CvS2 cabinet fixed. I turn around for a second and next thing I know I’m getting comboed in to super at the beginning of the round because I didn’t hear “Fight!”.

anyone going tonight?

Anyone organizing the weekly this week?

Otherwise…

Singles weekly this friday

Yeah I’ll be running the tourney. Meant to post earlier, but I had stuff to do. With that said…

Lessee if CvS2 will have enough people this time… rules are -

Singles weekly this Friday [11/17/06].

Entry fee is $1 [pay to play though]

Winner takes the entire pot

Best of one

Single Elimination

Minimum of 8 [Eight] people required, otherwise no dice

Like last time, sign ups start at 8, end at 9. Afterwards we will begin the tourney.

New people are encouraged to enter, it’s just a weekly. We generally get around 12~ people for 3s, it’s always nice to have more.

See you all there.

Idiocy?

I guess no one goes on tuesday anymore… or maybe i hav bad luck.

I stopped going for a while cuz no one goes -_-. Hit me up next time you decide to go.
