You guys should watch it at the Coronet in San Francisco…tragic and me watched all the matrix sequels and LOTR there…its a huge single screen theater with like 500 or something seats, that gets a lot of press during every big movie premiere.

Anyways back on mgl, i was there this past sat but there wasn’t many people playing. Do people still head over there?

NDS Vs. PSP

Allow me to hit you with all the facts without all the fanboy critisism thats going on about the NDS VS. PSP

SIZE/WEIGHT: Both systems are about even in size so size isnt really an issue here. Same for the weight. The NDS is a bit thicker while the PSP is a bit wider. Their about even in this area.

BATTERY LIFE: NDS last way longer than the PSP. The NDS can last up to 10 hours on a single charge in comparison to the PSP which is about half of that, although listening to MP3s on the PSP wont drain the battery as much as playing games or watching movies. This is going to become a major issue when the systems go online. I dont know about you but when I play games online its usualy for very long periods of time. I personaly wouldnt want to stop playing every couple hours just to recharge my system to get back into the action. The NDS is better in this area.

LOADING: NDS has very little loading time(if any!!)compared to PSP which is just like PS2 loading with a little more speed. Then again who wants loading times, especialy when that battery usage for loading time could go to accual game playing. Yuck!! The NDS is better in this area.

SOFTWARE: NDS games are smaller and easier to carry around compared to PSP games which are bigger and take more space. NDS can hold 1 NDS game and 1 GBA game in the system at a time…so when I get bored playing one game I can quickly switch to the other no problem and with very little time.I like playing my NDS games but my girlfriend likes playing Puzzle Fighter so this feature is really good especialy for those his & her situations when your on the go(2 games are better than 1). PSP UMDs can hold more memory making games larger/longer which is always good. Nintendo can add more memory to their carts in the future if needed…Nintendo has in the past with all of their systems software and Im sure they will with NDS carts also. Not only are PSP games more expensive but in order to save your game you need a memory stick duo…NDS games save directly to the cart so theres no need to spend extra cash to save your game. Its hard to say which is really better for a handheld since they both have their pros & cons. Their about even in this area.

GRAPHICS: NDS is lacking in this area compared to PSP which has awsome graphics.(but then again comes the issue of battery life because all that power sucks up a LOT of juice so NDS graphics don’t seem that bad for a portable system concidering this). The PSP is better in this area.

MOVIES/MUSIC: Both systems can do it. Unlike PSP your not obligated to pay for this feature with the NDS. Obviously the PSP has a bigger screen for viewing movies compared to the small NDS screen. I personaly wouldnt want to have to cram in all next to each other to all watch a movie on a handheld, but the PSP would be the better choice for watching movies tho due to its bigger screen. Sound quality is the same on both systems although I do like the PSP headphones that come in the bundle making it easy to change tracks when the system is in your pocket or case which makes things a lot easier compared to the NDS. The PSP is better in this area due to the bigger screen and cool headphones.

SCREEN: PSP has 1 big ass screen and yes its very nice…but if you put both screen of the NDS side by side its the same size as the PSP screen. Its always been annoying when playing games to have to hit start to see a map or menus. Not only that but I hate when developers cram everything on the screen(radar/health/rear view mirror in driving games). The second screen on the NDS comes in handy when playing games.Ive noticed that the PSP screen gets smudges easier making you constantly having to clean it and yes theres always the threat of getting scratches on it if you dont have a case. You hardly have to clean the screens on a NDS due to its folding design and the threat of getting scratches on them is low due to the folding design as well. As for the touch screen…The PSP doesnt have it. Aww its ok dont cry  Playing games on the NDS is the better choice, while watching movies on the PSP would be the better choice. Their about even in this area.

CONTROL: Both systems have the same amount of buttons and a D-Pad so that isnt and issue here. As for the touch screen and analog the NDS wins in this area. The PSP analog doesnt offer maximum control as compared to the NDS touch screen(especialy in first person shooters) Whos wants to use an analog where you at times have to over correct yourself when aiming or steering when you can have max control with the touch screen(compare playing Counter Strike on the XBOX to the PC) analog sticks just dont cut it. The duel shock controler for the PS2 was friendly when it came to left and right handed people but the PSP only has 1 analog on the left which is a bit disappointing. Using the NDS touch screen and buttons is friendly to both leftys and rightys. The NDS is better in this area.

WIRELESS NETWORK/Wi-Fi: Both will go online. Control and communication becomes a big issue here. Nintendo already comfirmed that playing games online with the NDS will be free with no monthly charge. Yay! We will see what happens in this area later this year.

VOICE/COMMUNICATION: Some of the current NDS games already support this feature and when both systems go online Im sure they both with support this feature(headset/mic port on the NDS is a hint of things to come in this area especialy when playing online) As for an on screen keyboard the NDS will be way easier to use(because of the touch screen)for communicating if you dont have a headset. Using the NDS as a communication device would be a better choice than the PSP, it kinda reminds me of a side kick in a way. The NDS is better in this area.

BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY: NDS + GBA says it all…bringing the total library of games for the NDS in the thousands. PSP loses here which has no previous system or games to use. Arent you glad you kept all your GBA games?

SYSTEM PRICE: NDS $150 - PSP $250

SOFTWARE PRICE: NDS $30 - PSP $40-50!! YIKES!! :wow: PSP UMD Movies $20

NEW-GEN GAMES: Currently both systems have a good line up of games and third party support so its hard to say which is better in this area at this time. IGN.com has a good list of games as well as previews.

NDS points - 5
PSP Points - 2
Even points - 5

The PSP is a better movie and MP3 player while the NDS is a better portable gaming system.

With all said I leave you with the facts to decide on which is really the best portable system.

CPS

i dont think the PSP has any software you need to pay for. All i need is the USB cord and this video converter:
http://www.snigle.net/downloads/RaPiZ%20PSP%20Converter.exe

If thats the case then I guess both systems can emulate games. We’ve already emulated NES,SNES and GBA games on the NDS/GBA with the GBA Movie Player.
