Any word when mgl is getting SF4?
Passed by MGL, is there any update on changes for controls/buttons or anything?
They are pretty horrible, but if management will do nothing about that, then that’s fine as well.
I’d just like to know to anticipate whether or not I should start going to MGL again or not.
**MVC2 is H2H in 2 big screen showcase cabinets now… so all you MVC2 heads should love that.
I’m guessing after the cabs are finished(H2H, PS2 ports, ect.) they are going to replace all the panel parts. Once the parts are replaced I’ll post the next tournament. I don’t mind the fact that they aren’t replacing the parts just yet. I don’t want to hear any complaints during the next tournament like “well this isn’t working blah blah blah…” or “blah blah this… blah blah that”. Let them get the cabinets set up H2H and modified first and then we’ll talk about the panels.**

You swear like joe spends his whole life there. Joe has done a lot for everyone at MGL. RELAX everyone. He is trying to do what he can when he can get time from his family. Also remember he volunteers to do what he can. He doesn’t get any compensation for the work he puts in. No one and I mean no one puts in the time for MGL or has the relationship with the staff there like Joe. Give him some time, it will get done.

**Exactly and neither am I. Honesty (and I’ve said this like how many times) if you want improvement then you need to speak up and go to them. Posting on SRK will only get your points through to me. All I can do is take all the community input and forward that to the manager. They tend not to believe the wishes of one person opposed to a group of hardcore local fans. Bottom line is in the end after all the complaining theres only one person stepping up… me. I can’t be doing this forever.
I’ve been doing it for years now… YEARS! When I took a break from tending to MGL and the community, MGL went to shit. Who stepped up to help? Nobody… period. I care about the community and the games, which is why I decided to come back and continue what I started. What do I get for it? A fat nothing. Only thing I really get is an angry wife. Is it worth it? It would be different if this was my job or something… but you know what it isn’t. If you guys really care about seeing the sticks fixed. OPEN…YOUR…MOUTH. Joe Flores HAS…A…LIFE.
I’m not trying to be an ass or anything, I’m just tired of the whining and crying. Theres nothing I can do… I’m powerless. If I can take the time out of my life to complain to the manager… and you can take the time to complain to me… why not take that time you have and complain to him yourself? Not only that but (and I’ve also said this millions of time before) the tech has god knows how many other things to fix at MGL OTHER than fighting games. Like games that actually make good money for the venue. Hes always fixing the golf score card dispenser because that thing is always breaking. Fighting games at the moment aren’t making them enough money for them to actually spend money on to fix. I’m surprised I actually influenced them to get the games H2H let alone fix the control panels.
The panels will be fixed… replaced with all brand new parts and everything but only after the H2H and mods are done. Think about it… they replace the sticks now… people start playing,mashing, breaking the sticks from now until we hold our next tournament. We hold the tournament… sticks aren’t perfect… people have problems or whatever… “MGL sucks! blah blah this this that that” all over this thread. Its happened before… it will happen again. I want the next tournament to be a good one… no… a great one. I’m not going to get them to replace panel parts just yet until its tournament time. When that is… I don’t know. They have many many many more important matters to take care of and I have come to understand that over the years. Broken joysticks and buttons on fighting games is the least of their problems.
So (once again I have said this HOW many times now?) BE PATIENT. Stop posting and asking if things have been fixed yet, it’s hella annoying and just as bad as a kid saying "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?) …

What if the community could donate a few parts, would MGL use them since they wont have to worry about spending money on it, say a hard spring for the loose joystick on 3s h2h.
i like the broken sticks. i play on them so much i dont even notice that theyre broken. tell MGL not to change them. so when tourny comes around ill be the only person able to play on them. bwahahahahahahaha
