I have fridays off the rest of the school year, so I’ll come to everyone. I wouldn’t mind doing the commentary lol.
Lets get the mangina from shabu shabu to do commentary.
If commentary is done I think it should be a two-man team. Entrance fee could go toward the overall ranbat winner prize. Or just keep it as a regular top 3 pot split for each ranbat like a regular tourney. shrug
I like the idea of it going to the overall winner of the ranbat, even more motivation to play well and keep playing! So ricky/jimmy wont show up just to pick up 10 bucks and eat fast food for free that night lol.
If commentary is done, how would you go about doing the recording for it? Or would there be any kind of recording at all?
It’s entirely plausible for us to record the matches by using a normal camcorder [with a fucking tripod, PLEASE. Shaky cam syndrome = no]. Direct feed is probably not an option, since the MGL workers will probably bitch at us for not being ‘technical experts’ on how arcade machines work and I’m sure it’ll be quite difficult to setup. However, if someone has knowledge of how it can be done, then perhaps we can persuade them to let us do it.
Over-the-shoulder view with the h2h cab would be ideal, but if we were to record EVERY match [most likely we’d be using both cabs, otherwise the tourney format would need to go back to single elim/best of one], we’d need to use 2x camcorders or something.
Also, it’d be in our interest [assuming it’s impossible to get direct feed of any sort] to record a few matches and make sure we can get the settings to eliminate most, if not all, of the black-line crap.
I sort of like the whole idea of the combined tourney winnings going to the overall winner, but we must consider that if people figure that they’ll never win first [and even if they do place 2nd/3rd, they get jack shit] they might not want to come. So perhaps we should do some minor prizes for 2nd/3rd using the pot money, if possible.

Hey, I heard MGL is getting a GGXSlash machine, is this true? And also, Ive been hearing good things about this arcade AND the 3S comp. If im ever in the area, ill shoot in and check the place out.

And yeah, we have a decent amount of 3s players around here, always looking for another. Usually we all come by on Fridays/sometimes Saturdays. Drop a msg here if you ever decide to come around.
Yea mos def a good idea to have minor prizes foe 2nd and 3rd, corey’s drunken body for 4th and lisa drunken raep for 5th are obvious choises as well.

Also, I have a tripod that I can contribute if you guys end up wanting to begin filming and are lacking one. I have a digital camcorder as well, although it isn’t of the highest quality.

if you just change the fps on the camcorder, it will eliminate the scanlines. also, eph has a 3ccd pro camcorder and nice tripod, plus he is good at editing; so you should ask that idiot to film the shiz, since im banzorz.
