Angry Asian lady is actually one of the nicest things I’ve heard from customers.
She just appears to come off as angry, but she’s not.
Is the Garlic Chicken Supreme Pizza as good as I hear?
<3 Pizza Box. Best pizza in Milpitas, Roll Cancel Cola, and next to MGL for some quick games. Never heard of the owner as the angry asian lady.
Sucks that there won’t be any more MGL tournaments. I’m still hoping that MGL will do some kind of project resurrection in the near future.
fuck yeah it is
We might as well make this the official Pizza Box thread hahaha.
I should seriously print this out for all the mashers out there in MGL:

It’s a shame MGL can’t get things together. I just moved to the area and was hoping for a local place to play. Where do most people in this area go?
I shall have to check out the legendary fries and pizza…
I went to MGL for pizza box/ddr girls anyway, not for the mvc2 competition.
wuts this garlic pizza you talk of???
You know that plaza next to MGL (the one with Bonfare liquor store)? There’s this pizza place in that plaza named Pizza Box that supposedly has this baller Garlic Chicken Supreme Pizza.
It’s next to that one chinese restaurant, but according to my various sources, that restaurant sucks. Either way, Pizza box dominates regardless.
I always got cheese but ima try that out.
does mgl have summer hours going?
I gotta try this out. BBQ chicken pizza from high 5 is bombdiggity, how can it compare? But really too bad to hear about operation Ressurection. I don’t get how people in management positions make poor decisions when there’s such support from the locals.
Crazy seeing people in this forum from San Jo!
I don’t think they understand how much money they could make from it.
So I was thinking about driving over here to try to get some games in, but it seems to be not worth the trip? Do they even have SF4?
svgl for sf4
The public laundrymat has better competition than this place.
launderland vs MGL bet it.
I heard MGL is planning on moving a lot of their arcade machines to the front building (like merging them I guess) and turning the back building into some sort of daycare. Can anyone confirm this?
They’ve recently bought a couple relatively expensive games (DJ MAX: Technika and BlazBlue) so I don’t see them scrapping their arcade entirely. From what it sounds like, the whole arcade will just be crammed into the front building. If this rumor is true, it looks like playing 3S and Marvel with 8 year olds among noisy ticket redemption games is the future for MGL. Stupid, stupid MGL.
Again, I only heard this from one source so I can’t really confirm this, does anyone have more information about it?
I doubt it, they’ve utilized the Pizza Arcade for ticket games primarily for the last couple of years. The only game they ever had that gained notoriety while being there is DDR and even then they moved it to the Golf Arcade eventually. Additionally, the Pizza Arcade closes at 10PM and the Golf Arcade closes at 12PM, if they are looking to continue catering to the older demographic, then it would be unwise to make that sort of transition.
However, if you are that curious, during your next visit you could always ask management if they have any future floor plan changes in mind. A day care in my opinion, using the entire Golf Arcade area or even a portion of it seems illogical to me, not to mention I believe they would need a license and all their employees CPR certified.
They are thinking of moving all the fighting games into the big party room next to the pizza building, not the main pizza building with ticket games. This is so they can supposedly hold tournament events in that room as well.
Ahhh okay… That makes a lot more sense. If they do that then honestly I don’t give a shit if they plan on turning the back building into a daycare, prison, or zoo or whatever they were planning. That’d be good for tournaments… if anyone held tournaments at MGL. u___u little late.
It really does; but I’ve been going to MGL long enough to lose every ounce of faith I’ve had in them (management) being competent people. One time they banned me from a tournament because I didn’t have my shoes on. I put my shoes back on and they still told me to get out. I bet they lost a lot of potential revenue from my friends and I that summer since we went elsewhere after that.
Belive it or not, MGL now has SFIV, but in two interesting variations:
-
They put a big screen TV, probably about 52" in the corner by the Air Hockey table in the Golf Arcade and have a custom built podium in which they put two standard MadCatz SFIV sticks. It was not operational upon visit however they did have it on temporarily in order to verify operation. I believe the setup utilizes an Xbox setup and similar to the FFA SFIV setup except it’s on one display. The concept is a bit makeshift but its progress.
-
Additionally, they installed SFIV in the old Tekken 5 cabinet on the Fighter side of the Golf Arcade, it’s in the corner in the very back across from Fist Of The Northstar however as of yesterday, it was only one player and in Training mode.
Is the custom built podium setup for tokens? No.
How will they regulate the setup? Unsure.
Should they have used TE sticks instead in the setup? Probably.
Is the SFIV in the T5 cab using Tokens? At the time it was on Free Play.
We actually had our camera on us at the time and took some pics to give some perspective. I’ll try and put them up later but I usually get preoccupied and dont frequent the forums that often anymore. So there you have it. MGL, making the attempt. We’ll have to see how it all pans out.
