I am an MGL noob! I went there last night expecting arcade mania, but as was mentioned it’s not on during holidays. Anyways, it worked out in my favor, since I only lost twice and rounds were set to 3/5… I got to play like 2 hours of blazblue for $1.50.
I was also expecting blazblue to be $0.50 for 3/5 because I saw that on some website somewhere, but it was $0.75. Also I felt like the A button (config b) on the 1P side was intermittently going out.
Seems like all the hype there is for sf4, there were at least 12-15 people there circling the head to head. I really wouldn’t mind learning some other games, maybe older ones like cvs2 or 3s that I just never got into. I don’t see myself getting into sf4 but maybe if that’s all people want to play then that’s what I’ll play. (can u tell I like 2d games?)
I did have a great time though, definitely will be going back at some point. Hope to have some ggs with all of you!

I was just wondering… with the release of bbcs in like 8 days?!? does anyone know if MGL is planning on getting one or upgrading their bb cab? I really want to get a head start on the comp if they get a cab in the bay area somewhere… Going to play buffed up bang and hazama!!!

@Magnus: i don’t think we’ve met but if you were at mgl last night you must have been part of the sf4 hype. But you play tager? Next time i’m at GL i’ll have to play some sf4 I guess. I did play a tager at MGL last night who said his name was James I think? but no way he could be considered the best tager in norcal (no offense).
Is wednesdays the day people generally go or is it just random? I was thinking about going down there friday night after work or saturday afternoon…

It doesn’t suck, but there are problems. Still though, in a world where arcades are dying, it seemed like an oasis to me. $0.75 is more than i’d like but at least it’s 3/5 rounds. If they do get bbcs i hope they don’t raise it!

The newer games tend to be ok but when it comes to older games like 3S, CVS2, MVC2 the cabs are in bad shape. Especially the H2H cabs which are supposed to be the pride and joy.
