Goten: I live in San Bruno, so technically on the Penninsula. But we can still get some games in. ko0…
just went there…closed for good, but the stupid shop across the way is open? wtf
never got a chance to play there.
starkilled, did you check the movie theatre upstairs to see if any of the games maybe moved?
None of the games got moved to the theatres. Everything was pretty much packed up and moved into storage for future use (out of state, from what I hear).
Last I checked the theatres had ID3, Out Run 2?, a dance machine (not sure which), Fast and Furious, Super Bike?, Time Crisis 3, maybe a couple other games. That’s all I can remember, I can be wrong though.
There may be a different arcade/game center under different ownership opening there in the future. That’s the rumor I’ve been hearing.
Goten i heard that there is a small arcade in the mall across from the metreon. can you confirm?
It’s not even an arcade. It’s a hole in the wall with games in it. Although to their credit they have decent games. I went there once.
They had SuperNova, Metal Slugs 6, ID3, a Pac-Man game, either Fast and Furious/Rush 2049 or both. That was when Bloomingdale’s first opened though. I’m not sure what they have there now or the condition of their games. It’s apart of Century Theatres on the 5th? floor in the corner behind their concession stand.
thanks. one more question. what about the arcade at the pier? i haven’t been there in about 7 months but last time the machines were not taken care of.
I’m not sure about RTA (Riptide Arcade, Pier 39). Haven’t been down there in ages. I can ask one of my friends’ who work down there though.
I had a coworker who did security at Metreon, who is a DDR freak, tell me that the Pier is still a tourist trap, expensive and for sure their fighters weren’t taken care of. He told me this last week but idk when the last time he was down there. (I’m sure more recently than 7months however).
i work 2 blocks away and i dont step foot in that shithole. Goten should apply there and fix it =) they’ll hire anyone. haha, token play > card system! atleast my credits don’t get jacked. lol
Sad to hear P1 has closed down, SF is in need of more good arcades…
yeah… too bad. So I heard you were arranging some console games Goten? Let’s get some games in.
Who, I’ll let you know if it happens. Right now I still got finals and a bunch of other stuff going on. Definitely want to try to get ppl together though.
Any other ppl that’s willing to house some console gaming around the city let us all know.
hate that place…
any news?
I was down there today. Seems like nothing has happened with the space yet. Looking like they won’t have any thing till after summer. But who knows, something might just pop up out of nowhere.
here is my theory on what will proabably happen. when i was in san diego, i went to this new arcade/ computer place. they had all the fighting games that were needed and had hella computers to play games and hella rooms equiped with plasma t.vs that you could rent out. They also had the whole charge card system metreon had. So when i was talking to the guy, they said they are opening one in S.F. right then it clicked. maybe this place will just take over the metreon. check out these guys website www.muddclub.net so unless someone knows something i dont, these guys are taking over.
Don’t know if anyone cares but word is that the new arcade that’s supposed to take over the P1 space is supposedly opening roughly in 5-6wks. This is just what I’ve heard, don’t know how true it is.
yea but will the arcade still have fighters? i need answers felix
Thanks for the update Mark. I had heard talks about Westfield bringing their arcade partner. Any word on what stuff they’re putting in there?
Interesting. Wonder if that’ll make a bigger fighting scene closer into the city… I like going out to Fairfield but it’s like 30-45 minutes away from both work and home.
