“I feel really bad that we inspired such bullshit,” Tim Commerford says

damn

Imma go see Marty Friedman tomorrow at the Whisky a Go Go. It’s gonna be my first time seeing him and I hope he plays some of his Cacophony and Megadeth riffs. Here’s the album he’s promoting

Dooooood I just got back. Such an awesome night! I love the Whisky since it’s such a small venue; got to see Marty do his thing from literally 2 feet away. I wasnt too familiar with his solo career but he did throw in the Holy Wars Egyptian solo and Tornado of Souls solo to get us all riled up.

I also met guitarist Herman Li in the crowd at the end of the set. This was especially awesome for me since I saw Dragonforce for the first time there, and it was one of my first shows too. I was kinda star struck but he’s a cool, chill dude and took a pic with me and my bro.

Then on my way out some dude was giving away his bands demo. Turns out theyre opening for Japan’s OG metal heads Loudness later in the month. After the news last year that they weren’t going to do a US tour I was bummed out, but it’s official this time!

I spent this afternoon listening to Behemoth for the first time… And now I find myself wishing I listened to these guys earlier.

Does anyone that knows 80’s japanese metal know the song that’s being played in the intro to this video? :

So Obituary never really caught my interest, but I listened to a live version of Slowly We Rot and I liked it. What are other famous songs by them?

These two have about as much in common as USAgent and the cast of Ghost World, but somehow this song all made some kind of crazy sense.

Yeah, Slowly We Rot and Cause of Death are pretty much must listens if you like the old death metal vibe.

I recently heard Sabaton, and they’re fucking great. Good heavy/power metal

Welcome to the fold. They’ve been one of my favorite bands for years now. They’re a band you need to see live at least once, they’re simply amazing.

(Not pictured above, unfortunately, is their hysterical stage banter. They give most stand-up a run for its money!)

Well, thanks to @Hecatom I’ve been going back and re-discovering Opeth. I actually really used to like this band, but then just kind of lost interest in them after Damnation. God, Blackwater Park and Still Life are still great albums. I like how they can convey a wide spectrum of emotions in just one song.

I thought that i posted it here, I found some weeks ago that this august UneXpecT split up, which is a shame imo, they had an interesting advant garde sound.

just discovered Danzig

My copy of Teramaze’s last album got here.
As usual is top quality, but this 2 songs deserve special mention, they are fucking great

found this funny
