Gotta remember Kojima wanted to bury the MG series right after MGS, so most of the complexity in the story I reckon was bred outta boredom, ie Raiden being gay, Vamp defo being gay, Liquid getting bodied and then pseudo resurrected via old man ocelot and nano, Cobra/DC/New Foxhound/B&B all being kinda copies of each other, Metal Gears going from OG to wtf to meh, Kaz being gay (yea we know wtf happened under that box god damnit)…
MG series actually wasnt that complicated, it was just an epic telling of Solid Snake and then Naked Snake with a heavy touch of chewbacca defence to give geeks something to talk about, I mean holy shit Snake was actually based on Kyle Reese from Terminator and Snake Plisken from fucking escape from new york, shit aint rocket science.
Nobody really cared about Otagon, he designed Rex then became side kick to Snake, which in turn watered down Snake because he was always a lone badass, Otagon stole the works of Granin so even if he was screwing his step mom, sunny or whatever, he couldnt have been more of a prick.
Raiden isn’t gay and it’s Otacon man. Otacon.
Yeah because Cambell, Naomi, Mei-Ling, Master, Otacon and Natasha totally didn’t help Snake at all in MGS. Since Shadow Moses Otacon took on at least half of those jobs himself.
Snake was never a loner or even alone during his missions. He always had like 90 people helping him.
The only time you can really consider him being a loner is when he was a dog breeder/sledder during his retirement before MGS1.
me-ling was useful for trolling in mgo2, I hope they have special characters in mgo3
Snake is about as much of a loner as Batman. 
Aside from that ballroom dancing/reacharound vamp fight in MGS4, I don’t see the basis for saying Raiden is gay.

I remember when I first played MGS and you get to the part where you unintentionally activate the nukes - then “Master” promptly calls you to gloat about how he tricked you. Did anyone else find it really freaky when “Master’s” personality suddenly changed and took a very cryptic tone?
It’s not that his voice took a cryptic tone, it’s the way the music changed. That shit was serious, yo.
mei ling is good for trolling in any map. hide somewhere and spam dem bombs for days. and vamp was just straight up broken. pretty sure his mini knives had some kind of “tracking” system because there were times I got headshots and I wasn’t even aiming for the head lol…
That also adds to the intensity, for sure.
