Metal Gear SOLID Thread: Snake? SNAAAAKE!

As long as no plot or character names that spoil said plot are mentioned, I’ll take all the tips I can get.

def play out the End battle straight up. its one of the most unique MGS boss fights, but you probably should set aside an hour or two for it

im not gonna lie

I need mgsv in me

put some shells in his dome at the harbor and call it a day :coffee:

Also killing him at the harbor is the only time you can say you made a man in a wheelchair explode.

The End has one of the best camos in the game if you manage to hold him up. Also, if you stamina kill him you get his Mosin Nagant which takes care of Fury pretty easily.

The only thing I liked about MGS2 was Lady Luck. not only did she capture Snake, but after she got mindfucked she mindfucked everyone back.

Then died.

Trying to remember were the B&B Members killed or just neutralized cannon wise?

canonically neutralized I dont think they where killed per say, I do remember reading that where linked to mistral from revengeance…idk

also pyscho mantis being involved in every mgs

Is this “The End” fight mostly cutscenes or gameplay?

Its only gameplay if you’re bad.

It’s all gameplay. A cutscene fight wouldn’t take an hour anyway.

Dont bitch out and use the thermal goggles on him either.

Fuck The Fear

I had so much trouble with the Fury; every one else wasn’t so bad.

I was glad when she died. No more melodramatic whining.

It’s MGS, if you hate Melodrama I don’t know how the hell you got through the series. The melodrama is part of the charm.

Admittedly the only thing I really like about Fortune is the sax theme that accompanies her.

There is tactful melodrama that actually contributes to telling a story and then there is incessant whining that serves no real purpose and does nothing but annoy. Fortune and her character fall into the latter. She’s like the designated “emo girl” of the game.

Even Ocelot makes fun of her for this.

And if you paid attention to MGS2, you’d see there’s a REASON why the melodrama was the way it is. Yeah, even “bad” melodrama can serve a purpose.

The weird thing about The Fury to me is, when I was younger, the fight was braindead simple. Now that I’m older, he’s the one I have the most trouble with. I streamed MGS3 this past weekend and I must have died to Fury about 20 or so times. Wish I could access the archive to show you how bad it was. It might have to do with me always gunning for 100% completion when I was younger (Getting a stamina win on The End gives the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle, which takes like a quarter or a third of Fury’s stamina bar if you land a headshot. Made the fight laughably easy)

Speaking of said playthrough last weekend, that ending still hit me in the chest just about as effectively as it did back in 2004 when the original MGS3 was first released. Them feels, man

I just heard that there will be quite a few canonical discrepancies and changes made in MGS5. I’m not looking forward to it at all.

edit: Every other boss was super easy, though.
