The End has one of the best camos in the game if you manage to hold him up. Also, if you stamina kill him you get his Mosin Nagant which takes care of Fury pretty easily.
There is tactful melodrama that actually contributes to telling a story and then there is incessant whining that serves no real purpose and does nothing but annoy. Fortune and her character fall into the latter. She’s like the designated “emo girl” of the game.
The weird thing about The Fury to me is, when I was younger, the fight was braindead simple. Now that I’m older, he’s the one I have the most trouble with. I streamed MGS3 this past weekend and I must have died to Fury about 20 or so times. Wish I could access the archive to show you how bad it was. It might have to do with me always gunning for 100% completion when I was younger (Getting a stamina win on The End gives the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle, which takes like a quarter or a third of Fury’s stamina bar if you land a headshot. Made the fight laughably easy)
Speaking of said playthrough last weekend, that ending still hit me in the chest just about as effectively as it did back in 2004 when the original MGS3 was first released. Them feels, man
I just heard that there will be quite a few canonical discrepancies and changes made in MGS5. I’m not looking forward to it at all.
