God. I still want to punch the air after MGS4. SP and MGO2. The mere fact that at one time, I wanted to get a PS3 for that game (before it came out) is chilling to me.
It is a shame because V could have blown all other games out of the water if it had just had a complete story (fuck the fact that they cut so much content). The graphics/FOX Engine are amazing and the game play carries the game enough to make me call it a “good” game. The controls are very smooth and easy to get used to, given how many options you have in battle. But for MGS standards, it is severely lacking because of how patch worked the story feels and how anti climatic the ending is.
In terms of original music in this game, nothing caught my ear. When I’m playing MGO i can set the BGM to damn near any game and it sounds good. Set it to Ground Zeroes or Phantom Pain BGM and I’m like “meh”
Portable Ops is still canon. The problem lies in Kojima had little to do with that game. The events of the game was referenced in a throwaway line by Miller in Peace Walker and that was it.
