Metal Gear SOLID Thread: Snake? SNAAAAKE!

If Peace Walker didnt appeal to you, honestly The Phantom Pain wont either. Phantom Pain is basically Peace Walker with a quadrupled production budget and a few extra bells and whistles. Though somehow they made the motherbase mechanic worse. There’s really no reason to go there outside of the Medical Platform sidequest, and target practice. That’s it. It has no depth. It’s just real thick fluff.

I also dont feel like it would be possible to latch on to the game in any way without having played Peace Walker. It relies pretty heavily on elements and characters introduced in that game. Yeah you can hit up the wiki but it still wont be the same effect.

just finished mission30.

Spoiler

LOL…nigga didn’t you just destory a 1000ft robot controlled by some fire demon…yeah lets bring that shit to motherbase so it can destroy the entire base lool…fucking metal gear games are so random

Oh and one more thing

Spoiler

I’ll be pretty disappointed if I don’t get some kind of closure on Eli and him running off with the ST-84

Spoiler

Watch the mission 51 or chapter 3 or whatever on Youtube I think it has some stuff about that

um…so whats the deal after mission 30…everything is harder now??

saw an EXTREME mission :worried:

Some new stuff some of the old missions with harder settings, obviously chapter 2 is when we see stuff get thrown together because of time/budget, chapter 1 was awesome though.

I can’t even laugh at that, pretty frustrating if people want to use her more but the game is not considered complete unless you do

the Africa Hospital scene…but that skullface gun :bee:

Shallowmummypuss isnt any harder on extreme i was let down

I wonder if the vocal parasite is the progenitor to FoxDie. They seem rather similar in that they can be altered to do very specific tasks, and once activated can not be undone. The Quiets version from what I understand (still no mission 45) would have compelled her to kill Bog Boss, whilw FoxDie is compelled to seek out its targets and eliminate them. Im just talking out my ass, but the thought crossed my mind a couple of times over the course lf the late game as we started learning more about the parasite and how it worked, and how…easily it seems one can configure it to do exactly what they want. I know both viruses are applied phlibotinum, but still the connection seems to somewhat be there. Anyones thoughts?

Probably gonna delete my save and start fresh today or tomorrow, give the campaign another spin. Take it slow and hopefully finish just around MGO’s release. Probably stream all of it if anybody wants to watch a no-voice stream from the beginning so some of my friends can watch while I Skype 'em, I’m over on www.twitch.tv/Froztey if anyone wants to watch(Shameless plug).

And a quick question, how do you uh…“turn off” the FOB system, I got online on my save and haven’t been able to stop it since. I keep getting invaded and just want out at this point, the game mode isn’t for me.

[details=Spoiler]They are somewhat related as they do fill a similar purpose

Find this person who does this and that or is this specific person and bam they’re dead.[/details]

I’d like to know if there was ever a connection made between Quiet/The End. I remember a cassette in the game talking about Cobra squad…maybe? There are so many it’s hard to remember what there is and isn’t.

Well we know that

Spoiler

Code Talker was researching The End when doing his research on parasites. I don’t think there even is a connection with Quiet and The End at all other than they’re snipers.

@Razor is right. These dudes in Africa can spot you at 60 meters away. Ridiculous. The Rus

Either switch to offline mode during gameplay or when you boot the game up, at the Accept/Decline option, chose DECLINE. Game will start in offline mode.

The games server is weird, you can be attacked while you’re offline but you won’t get the losses/lose any men/resources until you connect lol

I’m confused as fuck about the dialogue in Phantom Pain because I can’t differentiate Ocelot from Kaz or Snake.
As far as I’m concerned the story is about farming stuff and shooting and rescuing people.
Wish they had kept David Hayter. That guy at least has a very distinctive voice when he does Snake.

Also the game is full of wasting your time.
Instead of cutscenes that go on forever and make you want to rip your ears off, they got farming and rpg shit.
At least you could skip cutscenes in the previous games, but there’s nothing that saves you from farming and rpg shit, because otherwise you’ll run around with shitty gear all the time.

Game is cool in terms of gameplay but the points above are a real bummer.

[details=Spoiler]listen to the tapes zero and skull face have a conversation. zero basically tells skull face to give up the parasite idea, that they have something new to target specific individuals. he tells skull face “dont be quaint”

parasite idea was basically outdated even before MGSV starts lol
