Yes. He contemplated it so hard that he waited until the 3rd game to introduce her as a character, and then killed her in the same game. Surely meant to be a possible main stay in the series. Baseless conjecture.
Btw with how the series stands now, whoever picks up the reigns would have to bend over backwards and break their spine to create a situation where the Boss was cloned. She died during the cold war, where the universe didnt have realiable cloning technology yet. She died in 1964. Solid and Liquid weren’t born until 1972. That means her DNA would have to have been extracted and preserved for around 8 years, probably longer considering that the people who cloned Big Boss, were concerned with cloning Big Boss. Then there is the issue that, if she were a candidate for cloning, why hasnt the clone been in the series at all? She was cloned after MGS4? No. That means her genes would need to have been preserved for well over 40 years and still been viable for cloning procedures. There is no good way to clone The Boss and have it make sense from an existing canonical stand point/
Kojima wanted to quit making MGS games after 2, then 3, then 4. He has not wanted to do MGS for over a decade now and has been forced to.

Wonder if this is kind of a dig at how people are happy to play as anyone so long as they look like Snake. shrug My initial unfiltered thoughts are that while this is cool, it’s a little disappointing as the game was billed as the story of how Big Boss became a full fledged bad dude, but it doesn’t, he’s in the game a whole hour or so and that’s it.The initial thought is how he’s able to get away with having a fake out there doing shit, and him back being back in the U.S. running Fox Hound and not one person figuring it out…Might be something I’m not thinking of right away, but that does kind of get to me right now.

That’s my thoughts too, I like it but am a little disappointed that there’s no full conclusion to the game and Big Boss turning full heel. While one of the bosses is in/creating FOXHOUND I assume he told the other to go into hiding. I really hope we get something to tie up some loose ends just explaining why Miller joins FOXHOUND, whether it’s Venom or Big Boss that goes back to the government to set up FOXHOUND, does Venom turn on Big Boss and why Gray Fox gets held hostage.

I would say as long as you played mgs3 you’re fine. I didn’t play peace walker but ground zeroes brought me up to speed. If you don’t have ground zeroes, just wiki both of them and play tpp
Figured out why Mission 45 wont pop. I didn’t have a maxed out bond with The Quiet. So what…do I have to play the whole fucking game again from scratch to mission 45? That’s pretty stupid if that is the case.
It carries on from Ground Zeroes and has call backs to 3 and PW so you might be a little lost, but most of the story is self contained. I’d recommend watching a play through of those games or reading up on them if you can’t/don’t want to play them.
No, you can just raise Quiet’s bond and then play that mission.
Thanks folks. I’ll just wiki them. I didn’t play Ground Zeroes or Peacewalker because they just weren’t appealing to me and that hasn’t changed.
