eh I like them reusing characters, especially considering MGS does a good job of reinventing them imo. id rather chico survive as quiet than just be dead and never be relevant in MGS again. kind of reminds me of frank jaeger. the cyborg ninja could have just been a throwaway character but they tied it into a character people thought had died, obviously for the better.
as far as spiritual successors like B&B, thats a fine line. MGS relies heavily on motifs.
and frank jaeger is definitely the king and most OP in MGS

Yea no doubt, but it was something I found interesting since MGS1 - PW, since he was known to Solid as Master Miller and a brutal trainer (whom mostly taught Solid right?) its cool to see the transition from a fun loving easy going sob to a guy Solid and the green berets rightly feared.
Probably still Raiden, despite owning the face of everything in the MGSverse people still wanna be butt hurt because he wasn’t Snake, and because he got baby momma drama.
As far as I’m concerned he gets a hood pass cause his real nigga qualities are strong, lets examine
