Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Online

Uhhh…that kind of defeats the whole purpose…

Player 1 Camoflauges

Player 2 easily stabs Player 1 in the face coming out of a corner

I get all that, but once i enter the configuration screen on the disc, i’m completly lost.

4 on 4 is perfect for metal gear. It’s not like you’re on huge battlefields like on um Battlefield.

I’ve had this preordered for months and I got my Saga DVD a few days ago.

I’ll be going by Death Lee.

This is getting some good reviews:
IGN 9.8/10
EGM 9.83/10
PSM 10/10
Famitsu 10/10

Question:

When you preorder MGS:S (from GS) do you receive the dvd if you preorder the limited ed., or does it not matter as long as you preorder? When I preordered, I was told that you only receive the dvd if you preorder the limited ed. package (which was all taken up). Which one is it?

You get Saga with a preorder for either edition.
You get Existence (the cutscene movie) with the LE. It’s a part of it. You of course get Saga too.
That was the standing a while ago I got from several sites and Gamestop when I pre-ordered (sometime in January). I’m hoping it’s still true, but the release of Saga on it’s own kind of threw that into question. Who knows what they have left?

I see. So GS has yet again deceived me.

I called them last weekend & they claimed that they had tons of copies of the Limited Ed. available for preorder. When I get to store, they then tell me that they have no LE’s available for preorder & that they’re all reserved (clerk claimed they only received a handful for sale) but said that normal version was still up for preorder I could get a dvd placing five bucks down (even showed me disc). I was so disappointed (having my sights set on the SE) that I didn’t even bother.

Anyhow (to make a long story short), I had a change of heart today & decided to just preorder the reg version for dvd. Sure enough at the store (after I place the money down), I’m told that the dvd is only available when preordering the SE & that they’re all out. So I practically placed the five bucks for nothing. GS are the Lyin’ Kings. When I go to pick up the game tomorrow, I’ll definitely bring it to their attention. Guess that’s what I get for waiting at the last moment.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I just paid in full for the LE. Coulda picked up Saga if I wanted to but decided to pass it up cause I just want to get the whole package.

I can’t wait for this game to be released…

Got my shit preordered too. They even asked if I wanted the LE or the regular edition, but I went with the regular instead. $10 for the movie isn’t worth, IMO.

Now all I have to do is get the adapter to get it online. Anyone know a cheap place to get the network adapter for less then $20? This will be my first time online with the PS2, if I get the adapter.

Same here. And will this game use a headset/communicator? And if so, do I need to buy that or does that come with the modem?

It uses it, and you’ll have to buy one(they are cheap).

Hey, does anyone know how important it is to have headphones on in a battle? I could easily get them, but I would look (and feel) mental with them on, talking to the game.

Axe, i say it’s extremly important unless you are playing deathmatch.
Most players will want to communicate so everyone just doesnt wander around and getting trapped by pornos on stairs.

You can get a new Logitech PS2 headset from Best Buy for 15$.
The Network Adapter is 15 too if you need it.

Where? At a Best Buy brick and mortar store?

yo ill be on this ish all day tommorow niggas…

we gotta get an mgs srk beast team goin

sn will be the same as here see you guys tommorow

It’s being shipped today. I’ll be able to get mine (LE) tomorrow. Although, i still need to figure out how to set up my online service. I’m completly lost in the setup menu, and my PS2 doesn’t seem to be getting my connection.

Man, I was trying to refrain… but I have to give in. I beat the original mgs3, and I’ll probably end up taking this to town, too. I really want to try online… I forgot if I still have the drivers saved… does anyone know if they’re stored on the memory card, or on the ps2 itself (or something magical like that).

At this rate, I think I’ll refrain from picking up MGS4 when it comes out, so I can buy MGS 4: Subsisistence.

Live Video Review in about 5min (Pacific time) at Gamespot.com.

FUCKING EB AND THEIR WENDS. SHIPMENT! Now I won’t get it until Thursday :=(
