I like to hope that other Japanese gaming companies take a page from Kojima and even Platinum and go back to their roots. Kojima is an example of someone that didn’t freak out and dumb down his game to cater to American audience. He made the game he wanted to make and his games have sold a lot because of it.

I personally think a lot of MGS4 is “Take that” aimed at a lot of JPN devs who where caving in, and the MGS fanbase who where demanding he make a certain kind of game, hence its far more modern controls, and paper thin answers to things that never needed, nor where intended to be answered.

:|

Lol, welp that was obvious. There’s me thinking it was actually someone from the MG universe.
Speaking of the Kung Fu Dwarf Gekkos, I asked earlier in the thread but no one seemed to know the answer. There’s one just before you fight Sundowner… but I have no idea how to get to it. Does anyone know?
Yeah I’d like to know as well, I tied to fire an RPG at from afar only to hit an invisible wall. the Bruce Lee aura was too strong.
Ughh, VR 007 is driving me nuts. That last wave is some BS, I can’t break through them at all. And seriously fuck Captain America, especially with no Nanopaste, dammnit.
VR Missions are something else. One of them you just have to reach the end… Simple. But of course just before the goal, there’s a armored enemy and several guys all with rocket launchers. Another I can make it through the first 2 waves EASY. The first wave, I can kill at least 4 of them with Ninja Run>Slide trip kick and at worst get a double zandatsu. But once I make to the 3rd wave which is just 3-4 guys with melee weapons, I get cornered like a gang raping and it’s GGPO.
I tried shooting him with a rocket launcher but nothing happened
I tried for like 20 min to get to that Kung Fu Gekko but couldn’t figure it out.
You can instigate Irvings (Moo cow bipedal creatures) into dizzy by running around or having your back to them from afar. They will charge at you and when you block OR parry their tackle it will go into a triangle button prompt to mash. Once that is done they will be dizzy and you can go for a QTE finish. I’ve practiced it enough to purposely instigate this whole scenerio, its much quicker and should help you get golds easily. The same tactic can be used for Water Striders, having your back turned from full screen distance and you parry (don’t think block is acceptable for this enemy) their tackle. This will get you a button prompt for an automatic finish.

Right now I’m trying to beat VR mission 17 and if you parry mastiffs drop kick or of the wall dive it goes into a dizzy right away. Which is weird since I know that if you parry the drop kick in campaign this doesn’t happen. You’d have to parry the attack multiple times because they have a ton of armor.

Say all you want about Kojima. The man is open about the things that go on behind the scenes.

I like that he really does know gameplay is the most important thing. Agreed with sacrificing detail for silky smooth frame rate in a game where it truly matters. Didn’t think my respect for Kojima could possibly go any higher but somehow it has.
Except it is canon and PW directly references the game at the beginning.

I shot them with a rocket and blew em up.

Locations
[details=Spoiler]
I found them in Chapter 2 (sewers after the dwarf on ceiling), 3 (in the dark) , 4 (balcony), and 7 (across the road). I’m guessing 5 is the last one I need to track, wherever they are.
[/details]
That’s cause you aren’t using Pincer Blades. They are incredibly useful to open up a new round of enemies with a charge attack. Instantly kills groups of peons and as long as you had time to charge before they appeared, it’s faster than raw Blade mode. Also they help a ton on Berserkers

Sorry homie but portable ops was officially stated as cannon by kojima himself many times. All the events in PW are a direct effect of PO. Apparently some MG fans have said Nulls storyline conflicts with some of Gray fox’s origin. This is something Kojima will have to publicly address himself.

I don’t blame you since I come across this belief almost every time I mention PO. If you ever get a chance play PO when you can it’s a good game.
