The basic premise of MGR:R seems to be less serious and melodramatic like the MGS has been series at times, so I’d imagine the story will be a bit more enjoyable and lighthearted. Not to say the story will be great and compelling, but it’s probably going to be easier to swallow and enjoy.

All the stories up to MGS4 were good, IMO. While 4’s story wasn’t necessarily terrible, there was just TOO MUCH of it in the god damn game and became convoluted.
Fuck yeah the story is good. MGS2 had the best one and I hope it actually happens. So many fools abusing their freedom. Do you really think that everyone on this planet deserves to have the decisions of free will?
Damn the gameplay looks so slick. Looks like Ninja Gaiden on all sorts of crack, I hope this game is as kickass (and hard) as Black was. Even has a little bit of stealth action as well, which is nice.

This thread has gotten off track, lets get back to talking about how much better Revengeance looks than DmC (and just plain bashing Capcom in general).
I’m grateful the ending has closure and that the ending almost made me cry, but it made me laugh at what the conclusion of each characters fate was when trying to describe why they had in-human powers.

The story was convoluted, I actually liked the story until MGS4 where they tied everything up in a neat little bow named “Nanomachines” and The Patriots. Rebuilding Big Boss with Soldius lol. And Raiden trying to stop Arsenal instead of picking Snake up out of the way.

Couldn’t agree more, Metal Gear is a powerful license and Bayonetta just wasn’t enough. It sold well but could have sold a truckload more, guessing the PS3 port hurt it a bit but we all know it’s a blunder by Sega. The new WiiU title they created has actually sparked interest in the company and many gaming sites are giving a mini-history of platinum. Once MGR drops the Metal Gear fanboys will be screaming for MGR2.
Platinum is so cool, mercenary developers you can’t get more Metal Gear than that.
