"Messatsu" Akuma Partners And Team Combo Thread

I’ve been running Akuma on point with Ogre as backup. I don’t think it’s too hard to get in and then ABC into Ogre. And His basic Light Tatsu into Hard DP get’s a nice basic combo if I… tag switch? That thing where you use a bar to switch during a hit. Not too good at SF games so I haven’t really found any combos for anyone, but Akuma doesn’t drain to much meter and Ogre builds it up pretty well.

I did an Electric instead of a Rising Uppercut, and the Super still doesn’t connect at the end of that Akuma/Kazuya tag combo I mentioned before. Any ideas why its not working?

Btw thx for the other combos too.

I’ve always used Akuma in any fighting he’s been in, he is my favorite. So no surprise I’m using him in this game, the problem is getting a good partner for him; Yoshimitsu seems to be my best bet, but I’ve also been exploring Paul and Asuka. Would anyone know who would be the best for Akuma out of the 3?

Hope you all enjoy this! Doing the best I can for the community.

Nice. Too bad that third combo uses 5 bars.

I think I’ll run with Raven/Akuma I might try Kazuya too.

Been lurking this thread for a bit, and it seems like a lot of people doesn’t realize that Akuma MP SRK does more damage than HP.
Just pointing that out for those of you that didn’t know.

I paired him up with gief. Akuma tends to work better as a point character for any team, and mine is no different. I’ve found that Akuma can also work very well with King.

(gief as partner) cr.mp cr.mp lk tatsu st.mp mp.srk tag j.hp st.mp lariat

(king as partner) cr.mp cr.mp st.hk tag kneex3 cr.hp jaguar bomb (I think that’s what his air grab is called)

These are just examples of some stuff you could do.

Is there even a benefit to HP SRK? I’m guessing extra invincibility frames? But honestly, in this game that shit doesn’t even matter - it’ll trade anyway.

Been using Akuma/Julia,
cs.hp, lk tatsu, cs.hp, hp srk, tag cancel j.hk, f+mp mk, tiger strike

Lewis24 has some cool Yoshi/Akuma vids in the Yoshimitsu video thread. Check em out.

I use Lili and Akuma, so, I came up with some tag combos. Pretty standard stuff. Solid damages, though.

I think Paul’s a good teammate for Akuma, his phoenix smasher pushes you to the corner almost instantly. Best place for Akuma to do his most damaging combos.

Same here only I run Akuma on point just because with one bar Akuma and Lili can do massive damage together similar to the combos in your vid.
I mean for example

Akuma
s.HP xx HP SRK Switch Cancel into Lili

Lili
QCB LK/MK into HK followup, s.HP xx Heavy Dendrobium, Forward MK, HP

Does like 505 damage without gems pretty beast if you ask me.

Im running Chun li/Akuma, I have a few combo Ideas

Said something relevant to this thread in the Akuma Thread so I thought I’d put it here.

Some characters can allow Akuma to get his ground bounce palm off of certain special moves during a switch cancel.

Landing a ground bounce palm can allow you to either extend your combos or act as a really good easy setup into Pandora.

I have a list of characters and their moves. There are probably more.

Juri (QCB + Any Kick) I don’t know the name of that move it’s probably Sempusha or something like that.

Cody Criminal Upper (QCB + Any Punch)

Lars DP Move (DP Motion + Any Kick)

Sakura’s DP (DP Motion + Any Punch)

Lili’s EX Dendrobium (QCF + Two Punches)

Chun Li’s Tenshokyaku (F.:mk: > :mk: > :mk:) I think

Asuka’s Double Lift Kicks (DP Motion + Any Kick) Tough but do-able I believe.

And of course Heihachi.

Heihachi’s one can actually be followed up with a HK Tatsu for one hit.

HOWEVER!

Heihachi’s one puts you in a good position for some anti-roll stuff.

The Palm causes an untechable knockdown on hit.

From midscreen charge an MK/HK Demon Flip

If the opponent rolls you should have stored up a counter hit. Dash and then do a meaty cr.MP which will counterhit and you can follow-up with Far St.HK into whatever you please.

Vary your timings because you can make this real ambigious if performed right.

If the opponent doesn’t roll, then let it go and pressure them afterwards it should be an EX Demon Flip that you get but hey the regular version that’s all good too.

Oh yeah and you can also Pandora if you see that Akuma is low on health after the ground bounce palm due to the forward momentum and then get Heihachi to do his super whilst in Pandora.

With Heihachi as a partner, after a demonflip palm bounce, you can go straight into pandora and do ex rising upper, hp xx super but the timing is pretty strict.

If you can land Heihachi’s crumple, you go go pandora and straight into Akuma’s super. Does pretty good damage.

Does anyone have any success with partner wall bounces? I can’t seem to land anything.

My little combo video coming out soon should sort that out. Just making the final edits.

But since I want to make the Akuma forums lively, I always give people who are on here a little sneak preview first before anyone else sees it.

That said comboing off of a wallbounce with Akuma is WAY difficult in comparison to everyone else.

The main way to reach someone off of a wallbounce with Akuma is to walk forwards a little and then do a Far St.:hk: from there you can walk forwards and combo from there.

You can get your Misogi in there as well but that’s on another level of difficult in comparison to other stuff. Simply because as you know the way to combo Misogi Midscreen is via the following

st./cr.:lp: xxx :d::d::d::3k:

So your goal here walk forwards after the Far St.HK and then hit the st./cr.LP then cancel into the Misogi.

As you can tell, this sounds VERY hard and my words can’t really stress this because it is dependent on how fast your character recovers from the wallbounce move.

Characters like Ryu are very easy whereas unfortunately both of our partners, Heihachi and Lili, fall under the category of really difficult due to the timings required.

HOWEVER!

You can make this set-up easier on yourself by equiping a Level 3 Speed Gem (the one that activates should you use Pandora) but then again, it’s a gem slot that you are taking up there. One extra gem that you may never use in a match.

Also despite this being EXTREMELY hard to do, it does less damage than other Pandora set-ups :frowning:

Good stuff. Can’t wait to see it. It is pretty damn tough to land anything after Heihachi’s wall bouce. It’s stupid how hard it is to land misogi and it does average damage. Does it even last long enough for a wall bounce pandora setup?
