Also, are there specific requirements for running the game? I downloaded some demo of it from a korean site and when I tried to run it everything seemed fine until I hit a key to start things up (which it instructed me to do) and the images were all fucked up.

First, there’s a this big-ass sticky on the top of the forum saying no posting of illegal stuffs (e.g. warez and romz), so I don’t get why all you beggars get to get off here. Don’t be a scrub and fill the thread with your beg spam. For those of you who weren’t aware that it wasn’t free, here ya go: neither ReACT nor the original Melty Blood are freeware.
I can’t believe people are seriously asking for tier lists ALREADY. FFS, I think we broke something back in the day by creating that concept; now everyone wants to know the tiers of every damn game before they even start playing. Tier lists can be fun, but you’re seriously better off doing match-up analyses rather than spending your time divining tier lists.
Point 1: The game is MAD BROKEN. I think those two words sum it up pretty nicely. To be more detailed, there are whack-as-hell infinite combos in this game, combos that are too easy that do too much damage, etc.
Point 2: The game is also pretty buggy, and this isn’t even an alpha/beta release.
Point 3: The game is cool as heck and pretty fun if you don’t abuse all the broken parts of the game.

YahnV: please remove the link. If people is going to take the easy way and dload Melty Blood instead of buying it, at least DO IT ON YOUR OWN. It’s sad how this thread went from a ReACT discussion thread to a “tell me where to download it” thread.

Okay, I think I can now argue about other points.
The patch that just got released seems to have removed all infinites except one (so far)
I will not argue that some combos make a lot of damage, but at least damage settings can be changed. Also, I think Yukinoze’s videos are using a modified damage setting.
The version number of ReACT is 2.0, and the patch makes it 2.0001 or something like that. No mention about alpha or beta (unlike EFZ’s initial Bad Moon Edition release which does have a [beta] in there), so it is a final version. Fortunately they are putting out patches. Considering that Melty Blood is now a commercial company, I think they can put more resources on balancing out the game with patches. I really hope ReACT can become a game balanced enough to be compared to GGXX or EFZ.
