Melty Blood ReACT: Final Tuned Open Discussion

I know, isn’t that great? Love being able to play against people only 4 miles away from me.

Those matches were way good. Makes me want to pick up Warcueid.

Is Mech-Hisui as good as the japanese players all make her look?

I would think MHisui isn’t as good in FT compared to AC. You can’t spam jetpacks as low or as fast and more importantly there’s no time limit. So there’s no reason for the other person to rush in carelessly. But I can’t say for sure as I’ve never played/seen her in FT.

WTf is this 1c-2c-4b shit?

Explain…

It started with Guilty Gear forums as an easy way to denote button presses. Instead of saying “QCF + HP” or “D, DF, F + HP” people started using numbers. So look at the numeric part of your keyboard and it corresponds to button presses. 1 = Down-Back, 2 = Down, 5 = neutral, etc.

A, B, C, and D are the attack / shield buttons. So 236A is a fireball motion with A. Also, not so much with Melty Bloody but you might see it elsewhere… xx generally means cancelled. So like a sweep canceled into a fireball might be written as Cxx236B.

Yeah look at the number keys on the right of the keyboard and imagine they were directional arrows instead of numbers.
I heard people also use that control terminology on SNK games particularly Samurai Shodown or Last Blade.

Basically, many japanese use that terminology…

hmm, so yes a couple of quick questions. Hope they haven’t been asked/answered yet.
Sion:
What’s the standard follow-up to here corner launch, rdp+c? Easiest seems to be hit a after 3 hits, charged cXXqcb+b, combo, relaunch, blah blah, but I’ve also seen the charged c canceled into rdp+b (which always seems to knock my opponent out of the corner when I do it) then looped into itself, with, I guess, some sort of whif cancel in there?

Arc:
Speaking of corner type combos, is there some trick to hitting a,b,c after connecting with a d+c, c wall bounce? Even when I delay the c to get a low bounce, it seems that the b always knocks my opponent back onto their feet somehow.

yeah i just got it, but i’m having trouble configuring my buttons:xeye:. teach me this game

We need to see some of that popularity on the east coast, now. As far as I know, there are only two people in Pittsburgh who play the game. I convinced another one of my friends to play it, but since I’m in college now, he lives about an hour away and I have no car.

As far as I know, I dont think u can configure them unless u got a joystick/gamepad …i use the Ps2 controller>USB to play it…

yeh im trying to get people into it…they either think its retarded and broken or wow thats cool reactions…

Watching those match videos with the wall bounce combos with Arc…is it possible to do in FT or is it AC only?

Its hard for people to change there views. People that love streetfighter find it hard to switch to other systems like GG and MBR, so they come up with excuses like “its stupid” or “its broken” (I’m not saying everyone). I’m VERY surprised to see caliagent#3 looking into this game.

FT is identical to AC only no new characters, levels and GUI.

Master Chibi’s avatars ftw

Any time Sion has 100% circuit, not just in the corner, you want to do EX Slide kick. As for the corner combo, you need to hit them with the charged c at the right height or cancel the c into the b kick as late as possible. It’s very precise and not exactly worth all the trouble so just do what you can.

Arc’s 5b will ground slam (though techable) airborne opponents. The trick is to catch them before they hit the ground. Usually 5b is followed with a 2b.

The Arc combos you see in AC are probably possible in FT.

Not entirely true. AC has a bunch of new subsystems in place, shield hold, circuit spark, and dodge. FT has reverse chain damage scaling and various tweaks (mostly damage/scaling related) that AC doesn’t.

2A 5D. That is all you need to know.

Timing is very important, because the opponent needs to be as high as possible so C can hit after the B, but not too high so A > B whiffs. I am not completely sure but it might be character dependant (since characters fall at different speed).

In some cases it might be that you can only hit with A > B > 2B > C

New-ish things?

Kohaku has a corner infinite that does no damage fast! She can also cancel her B sword in a manner I’m not entirely sure of yet. But it involves doing EX Cactus but having it not come out.

But mainly I’m bumping the thread to post this.

They took fourth place! Go MB#r!

ok, wait. so u mean u were playing shiki t. up until this point where someone mentions hes ‘top-tier’ , now u feel the need to just drop him? had spooky (or any1 else) not taken the time to even bother w/ listing a tier sheet i think u’d still b using shiki t.

Its pointless to disreagard a char solely on his/her place on a friggin tier chart. if u like a char regardless of their status JUST PLAY EM. i mean i played ‘rose’ in A2 before i even knew about tier sheets and i continued to use her even after obtaining that knowledge. why? because i feel that the character is FUN to play.

why throw all of the exp. u’ve gained simply over the ‘all-knowing-tier-sheet’.
not picking a char because theyre top is still baised.

btw, i play akiha (hard-core) because shes fun (dammit) and she suits my character interest. she just so happens to b a ‘top char’. i WILL, however, be converting to aoko-ism if AC ever comes around. supposedly shes ‘low-tier’. i can give a f*&k less. SETUPS OWN!!

Shiki was ALWAYS top tier. Nanaya just had slightly better normals.
