Look, if you play at home on infinite time and you’re planning to use that infinite, I hope you are using a turbo fire pad. Stick users, stick with turbo features and elastic band. That’s enough time to make a few sammiches.
Whose the chick with the pigtails and the yellow sweater? The one with all the throws? I wanna learn her once the game comes out.
No you may not play Satsuki. Master Chibi has dibs on her.
Yumizuka Satsuki.
There already is another thread that deals with Melty Blood. The thread is of ReACT, but most of the info applies for Act Cadenza. Its a good read to get into the game.
How does this make sense?
It’s not the PC game. You shouldn’t try to make it like the PC version. You should play the game for what it is. If you want to play the PC MB; then play that.
I’m pretty sure they put the timer in there for a specific reason (reduce turtling?). As a side effect, it also means that infinites and retardo-loops like these ones can’t be used if you are well under the other person’s life bar… because you will never get their life below yours doing… what is it… 1/10000th of their life each hit?
Negative. All that would do is assure that there would be no competent Sacchin players in the US. The only thing Chibi’s Sacchin is good for is making sandwiches.
<3s to Chibi.
1/11000th. I do not know if it is possible to actually get it there, though. The hit-based damage scaling caps out at 3.1%, and the jab infinite does not incur any other damage scaling (like super cancels or relative prorated normals), but it keeps the initial protation (of 50%). So each jab is doing 4 damage once the infinite gets going. However, Shiki gains a ~20% defense boost when low on health. The actual number is non-trivial to pin down, as it is a function of his current health – he ends up effectively having 13,500 health. Therefore, it would take roughly 3,375 hits to kill him – a bit less, since the set-up for the infinite does damage too.
There’s your bit of useless MB trivia for the day, folks.
…
The clock is there mainly because the arcade enviroment requires it, to guarantee a certain coin drop rate regardless of other factors. In a console/online enviroment, one could argue that it is simply vestigal (although some games may keep it for other reasons).
Melty Blood needs it more than most, especially in certain matchups where it is extremely difficult for either player to effectively get past the other player’s defense. I have had a couple of matches exceed ten minutes (>3:30 a round), and while most people would question the competence of my play (and rightfully so), I am fairly sure most people would regard my opponent as such (except for the fact that he couldn’t kill me? fufufufufufu.)

Erm…
I’m more than sure they put a timer in there for a reason and not just too reduce turtling. Overall, its really nothing to make a big deal out of it. The timer is there, just like any other fighting game.
Now if the arcade game had inf time, well…
Are you dissin me? Have we met? Ive never been to new york. Oh wait just reread your post my bad!
Then it would be like an older patch of MBR. But all in all, who has infinites? I know Arc, Ciel and if I remember correctly (which may not be the case) Sion have them. Satsuki has her loop and so does Red Akiha, but who else is there? tries to think
I still love Sacchin as a character, but I just don’t enjoy playing as her anymore. I play Hisui / Warc / AkAkiha now, though none of the three ever give me as much confidence as I ever had playing with pre-FT Sacchin.
I absolutely loathe Zaelar’s Ciel with an unrivaled passion of which the world has never seen before though.
Ah well~
Everyone shall address Satsuki as Sacchin. This is the law of the lands.
Where does the name come from? I dont speak japanese…
SHUT THE FUCK UP
now remember what i told you earlier…
you’re bright-eyed and bushy tailed!
Does someone still has the link for those sandwiches, I can’t find the pic I had saved at the time it came up first.
yush…I know I am. :3~
ciel otg loop:opponent in corner:
2abc >jc 236a (good way to start otg rather than scale damage w/ 2c [wiff] 2a)
otg: 2a>5a>6a>5b>2b(2hit)>2cc>(now in air)cba> [ (land)5a>6a>5b>2b(2hit)>2cc>(in air)cba ]
*the loop proceeds in the []s.
*after about 4 reps the loop becomes terminated do to the gradual increase of pushback.
*this combos a bitch. have fun dedicating and hr or 2 toward consistency
arc wall slam loop:opponent in corner:
2abc>4b*>air dash c(deep)> [5ab>2b>5cc>(now in air)2b>] X2 >5ab>2b>4b*>(in air)bc jc bc [whatever]
*theres like a million variations to her wall slam loops, some that even take the opponent from wall to wall. i just listed the one i could remember and actually do.
*the 4b should have enough charge for the one-hit untechable version (have fun practicing that!) :annoy:
*the air dash c is to be done super-deep so that the 5a hits promt to her landing
*5ab>2b : the 5b floor slams and must be quickly chained to the 2b to juggle befor the character lands.
*after 5cc IMMEDIATELY do 2b. she should be an inch off of the floor for it to be done properly.
kohaku has an infinte too but its SUPER DIFFICULT
remind me to bother you later about your ‘anti-infinite anti-timer’ comment. but i doubt i’d forget as i was somewhat irritated by it.
GO AOKO!
Well, you have Satsuki by itself… and since the Japanese are weirdos, they like to give nicknames to characters sometimes. I’m sure you’ve probably heard of the -chan honorific, which is primarily used for girls and denotes friendliness/familiarity with the said girl (or even be added for cuteness). The -chin honorific is just a cuter version of -chan, hence the name Sacchin. This is her “official” name it seems, as her name on websites is the hiragana for Sacchin, rather than the kanji for Satsuki. I don’t speak Japanese either, but this is from what I understand. If I’m wrong or inaccurate, someone feel to correct me.
Also, Aoko sucks. Seriously… she has absolutely nothing going for her.
The inclusion of the timer is the ONLY necessary change from ft to ac.
I invent random anti-airs on chibi. He then gets mad that I don’t jump. He doesn’t just hate Ciel, he haets any character that I ever pick.
‘Sacchin’ is not an official name, but rather a fan-given name. That’s why you are likely to see it around. Satsuki just happens to be a pretty popular character.
As of the exact origin, I don’t know. But ‘Sacchin’ as a contraction of ‘Satsuki-chin’ (remember, Japanese are good at shortening names) doesn’t sound far fetched.
