Don’t upload your family photos too quick until we see if it lives up to the hype. Would be nice to good filelockers back since all the good ones buckled out of fear.
Can’t wait to talk about this with my IP professor Tuesday. Lifehacker/Gizmodo (wherever I read about it) made it seem like the ultimate property right killer.
i love Kim Dotcom because he’s the Internet’s first super villain, but y’all need to sit down for a second and think about what you are doing. he isn’t some bastion of free speech. he doesn’t give a fuck about any of us. remember this dude is a professional thief and con man that has stolen millions before he created megaupload but never seems to get into too much trouble. ask yourself why that is?
i don’t know too much about the new megaupload, but Eduardo “Insider Trading/Co-Facebook creator” Saverin is funding this dude. i wouldn’t be surprised if this was the most elaborate honeypot in the history of the internet.
i’m not trying to rip on any of you for being hype. if this is the real deal it could be amazing. i’m just saying be careful, is all.
Kim is the type of villain I can get behind all his white collar crime has only harmed the plutocrats. Not like anyone is a hero in business anyway. And insider trading is the jaywalking of money crimes.
Destroying every business that isn’t physical seems like it harms the little people too. It’ll be interesting to see where businesses are at fifty years from now.
“Interstellar copyright doesn’t mean shit when you’re dealing with silicon.” --Hyperion Cantos, Dan Simmons
word on the street as to why he didn’t get seriously popped for that is because he allowed the German (i think) govt access to see who was buying and selling (honeypot) so they could catch everyone else. when he pump and dumped that stock, he gave the white person “i didn’t know i couldn’t do that” defense and it worked. also he’s paying off officials.
If that’s true, then fuck that guy, and I hope the feds pull him out of his little panic room again. I’ve had money stolen from my bank account before.
