riaa and mpaa will go out of business because they are dinosaurs who do not understand the internet and think anti piracy measures would ever work instead of innovating and coming up with a new business model that doesn’t suck
they are just delaying the inevitable and trying to justify their worthless existence. the fuck heads will go out of business soon anyway and be replaced with something better and we can put this all behind us.
Word. Megaupload was a GREAT place to find old tv shows no longer supported by torrent seeders, and not available on dvd. If a company was too half-assed to release something they own on dvd (outside of a lame 5-7 ep “favorite episodes/Best of” dvd, if that), can they REALLY be salty about people downloading tv recordings of entire seasons of said show, and call that “lost sales”?
I always wondered this about internet video viewers: if you LOVE a video online enough to watch it multiple times, why not just keep it to watch at your convenience offline? Neither the site it’s on nor the internet itself is such a guarantee, as you now know.
Look at the Netflix situation as a perfect example. They came in with a great business model, and once it took off, the studio’s starting pulling out because they wanted a lot more money.
Simply put, bandwidth limits are going up worldwide, however technology is emerging all the time that increases what we can do. Once we get EVERYBODY on high speed connections, what then? There is pretty much ZERO online TV or movie websites that are legit. The ones that aren’t legit are obviously making FUCKTONS of money doing something oh so simple.
Why aren’t Fox or Universal or MGM or TIme Warner smartening up and charging people like 5 bucks a month for full access to their archives? Put movies there before they’re released on DVD? Hell maybe cut out DVD altogether?!?!?! Seriously, they could slash most of their production costs dramatically while bringing in a huuuuuge profit as well, and CREATE FUCKING JOBS IN THE PROCESS.
It’s ass backwards old white man retarded shit like this that is why our economies are crumbling and people around the world are revolting. Because old fucktard establishments can’t get with the times.
Edit: Here we go: other sites have started closing down just in case 20 minutes ago…Luckily, I dled my subbed Skull Man anime this morning instead of putting it off. Unfortunately…I can’t catch up on Toriko now…
Yeah I dont like Filesonic that much but was currently downloading a backlog of old tv shows ( from earlier this month) and they all just stopped lol. soooo yeahhhh as long as all of them dont get shut down im ok, but this is pretty redicks.
^ same. MU’s speed was great without a premium account, fileserve was my second ect. ect.
All I know is, if I have to resort to fucking torrents again for these tv shows I will be pissed. Takes for ever to download japanese tv shows that ARE NOT anime torretns haha.
Goddamn. These people aren’t playing. I went to some “trusted” blogs to pursue some new pornos I wanted, and half the damn links on the vids were down.
Trust me, if I saved every video I cared to watch more than once, my HD would be a mess with no space left. We’re not even talking porn vids here.
There needs to be a serious war, like way way bigger than anything just Annoymous has ever done. Because if something as big as mediafire or rapidshare goes down, it’s essentially nothing but a political power grab.
im with you homes, i stopped using MU a lot recently due to the amount of things that were already removed. but the things that weren’t, whew. i was proud to see my getting 100 megabyte/sec steady lol.
ah well, filesonic is being scuured, some punk ass bitches. how are you going to be an online file ‘locker’ and then be scared of repercussions? filesonic just went with the we surrender don’t hurt us mentality.

i trust smaller drives due to the amount of failure that you could experience if one of those 3TB’s failed versus a single TB drive, amongst other things.
i have also sworn off seagate aka the new western digital. by that i mean current WD is solid as shit but used to be garbo status, etc.
Tell me about it. I lost 500gb of videos some 4 years ago when a WD Essentials Mybook died on me. Not “died”, just stop being recognized by anything. When I took it out of the enclosure to put it into another enclosure, the firewire prongs broke off. Sonofa-
