I play sf4 now to hang out with people. Game has gotten somewhat boring for me.

I stand by my word. I’m not trying to take anything away from the comp I’ve seen in VA. I take the time out of my life to drive an hour and a half from Charlottesville to Anthony’s house just to learn from him and the guys at Richmond. I’ve seen Moose. Richmond’s been awesome and I take everything to heart, whatever it is they teach me.
And you know why I care? I’ll take it back then, it might not be naive. But I just feel it takes a lot to break into this scene because everyone seems so battle-tested. What have I done? Nothing yet. I worship no one, I’m in it to bust their ass like you’re in it to bust others. Figuratively speaking to my knowledge of the game, I guess I’m just frustrated because I’m coming with a knife to a gun fight.

Damn I have read quite a bit in this thread that made me chuckle and others that made me tense up. People are taking things a little too seriously. I have played all games start with sf II and I played in a local pharmor up to Blazblue and sf4 that came out this year. I do love CVS2, 3s, capcom fighting evolution, alpha…mvc2 I enjoy all games.
All OG gamers know if any solid player practices any game they can become good at it. I myself never played marvel, but I’m sure I could get decent at it fairly easy. I think SF4 is scrub friendly, but a good solid player will still do well…example John Fkin Choi. Fundamentals and playing smart will always win over fundamentals of a game.
I think focus attacks,crouch teching, and ultras do favor new players. But there are ways around it. I agree this isn’t the best game in the world, but its fun and it’s getting new players to come out and play and keep the scene alive. It’s still sad that people do melt over these so called "great players from out of state.
Example…Flash Metroid…Got 2nd and 1st in previous tournaments…He got destroyed in Va. Marn/Joe are good but are invincible…they have lost to Va b4. I sent Arturo to losers so no one is invincible in SF4 which I understand Hav’s point there. Justin doesn’t even win every sf4 tourney. Crytechs and Mike Ross got put out by me and Chaos at throwdown not NY!..In fact VA/Md’s team believe it or not as a whole would probably be the favorite in a 5 on 5 or close favorite against cali or NY. Not just because of SF4, but because were all smart and fundamental.

lol, there are SO many MD/VA/DC threads, lol. I’ve been posting in the X30 thread, but I figured I would post it here. Gonna have a gathering at my place on Friday night. Some people have expressed interest in possibly Friday afternoon as well (for those of us that are off work). If anyone here is interested, let me know, and I can give you directions and we can hammer out a time that’s good for everyone.
