ggs to all last night/morning guys. It was fun, i wish i coulda keept drinking and stayed over but had that interview. Got the job so once i start at that location I wont be able to stay up like that again. I will however have sats, suns, and nights available which means i can pretty much game everyday as long as im in bed by 11ish.

Gotta stop giving a fuck and just commit to your offensive options, cause theyāre gonna do a lot more for you than backing off. I imagine optimally that getting in is the biggest problem, but not trying to move in is the same as losing to Guile, your turtling/backing off just plays right into their hands. Youāve got to take the reins in those match ups. Now why the fuck canāt I fight Sagat like you?
all you have to do is corner Chun and not cross her up, she literally loses at that point.
But Iāve always liked the Chun end of the neutral game in that matchā¦itās kinda not fair for Bison lol. He canāt do his air shitā¦she can ultra devil reverses too.
I guess, just bulldog your way in and donāt let her flip kick/jump over you. Focus dashing predicted kikoken/sweeps can help you a bit. Since youāre both charge characters, you can probably walk up to a kikoken, and then EX scissors through the nextā¦or make them walk back and dash up and repeat to corner them.
Otherwiseā¦footsies can be key at that point.
Iāve got to play your Chun out of a sick curiosity, Mags. Another thing, how do YOU feel about the Gief/Bison match up? Probably not fair asking you since you just picked him up, but Iād risk the question on any videos watched/homework done on your part.
As far as your match with RyRy, that dude never jumps so I would have stuck to footies on the ground and done more ādown-backā in certain situations, because it loads Bison with some of his better options, like EX Psycho Crusher/Scissors/Devil Reverse/Headstomp. I donāt know if RyRy reacts well to empty DR, but when you had him cornered in the second match, I was pretty sure he was just gonna stay down. I rarely try to cross up Ryu unless I can get it super meaty, because unless you safe jump the meaty Shoryuās, heās gonna get that LP each and every time.
Your spacing seemed really good, nailed the combos you needed to. You put his Sagat down, so that speaks wonders for you.

Bison Gief? Ah, yeah I havenāt played that match much at all except with a few people on my buddy list online. I really think Gief limits Bison a lot more than other characters. Bison has great mobility but itās likeā¦for no reason on Gief lol. Usuallyā¦I guess low short -> short scissors, and roundhouse is what Bison might be looking for. Iām still not completely sure how to deal with a jumping Giefā¦I just far roundhouse and trade, or low fierce when heās closer. I really donāt know what the proper anti airs are.
I know how bad anti airing can get without an uppercut. Nearly everything with Chun is jump in specific, so I imagine starting the same learning process over again with Bison. Gief has all day to be guessing where you place roundhouses to trade with a lariat. Itās hard to go 99 seconds for 2 or 3 rounds without having a tendency to release the roundhouse. I think itās bound to trade, and panning out in Giefās favor at that point.
If it was all ground game, it would be more fun. But Gief having so many good jump ins makes me not like the Bison vs Gief matchā¦feels risky.
I donāt know about Bison vs Sagatās jump elbow either, Iām surprised Ryry didnāt use it more. Iāll have to look in the forums about what low fierce and standing roundhouse are used for in their unique anti air match ups.
Heh, the non downbacking part came from my Chun. Sheās not a real charge character except vs Blanka/Gief(sometimes). I should be downbacking with Bison moreā¦is EX stomp a good anti air? You have to let it out mad early though right? Iāll have to try downbacking Bison much more. There are times where I could have blocked some fireballs, and then EX scissors through the nextā¦but he saw me walking around and just fireballed. I was wondering when he would jump from all the st.forwards I was throwing outā¦but I should just go and do whatās working and worry about something after I get hit by itā¦as long as the threat isnāt too big (Sagat FADC ultra combo).

I mean, at the mid range game, you donāt want to completely cripple your mobility by being in down-back. But against Ry-Ryās Ryu, you needed to load more of your options at certain ranges based on how he was fighting. He was zoning, so you can risk some of those. Against someone like Eric Kim, he can get aggressive and that is when Iām most afraid of Shotos, because at certain ranges, my game has holes. Reactionary back-dashes and shit.
Something I usually gamble is standing short into a crouch at about a character and a half space away, so I can get a quick feint into down-back charge, and then just wait and see if the opponent does anything. If anything, you can devil reverse in a situation like that and not have to worry about a focus if the opponent commits to anything like a fireball. Mamation said it in the other Bison thread, but you really want to blow through those projectiles with EX Scissors just to make things a little safer. You have much better reaction than I do, so I think walking forward and focus/scissors spacing/positioning would really favor you.

i guess i can be more offensive. i donr want to hurt anyones feelings tho. as far as the corner thing, i usually thrive when i get people there. i enter my happy place and hurt people, but when i was playing against chun i couldnt exactly do what i normally do. i cant remember what move it was, but i think ir was her fireball. i only assume since its like that for guile. i can think of some answers but for the most part if im forced to block that fireball i loose my pressure.
Yo real talk bison sucks, on paper he looks good but he really isnt. Stand rh is good but what are u going to really do when bison doesnāt have a life lead? His footies are above average but not enough damage to compensate for the mass amount of down-backing you have to do EVERY MATCH. Bison players are forced to do risk/reward with him when obv is will not be in his favor 6 out of ten times. Iām not talking about what ifās either every fight with him if he wins on paper bison is allowed maybe one mistake and that is pushing it on some matches ie rog, gief, rufus, however the matches he loses bison can make no mistakes at all shotos, sagat, vipers and so on.
It is pretty sad too because if he had something damaging maybe he could contend with the higher tier chars outside of playing foooties or just being better than the person you are playing. It gets real old not being able to do damage when you need to because u canāt because the options you have a limited to more risk/reward.
I remember saying that and having people tell me Iām crazy, Jason. I know Iām not that good, but fuck, Iām not insane either. Bison has to work where the rest of the cast just derp safe combo option into Ultra.

as far as gief, look at it like sim. if he plays a perfect match, he will win. if u play the perfect match against gief, u will win. it all depends on your foccus and willpower.
