so uhh there somethin going on at X30 today. lol where is that?
11640 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852. Walk across the street from the White Flint metro station and you’re there. In a shopping center with a Papa Johns and there’s a Popeyes and Arby’s next to X30 just outside of the shopping center.
3-10 pm SFIV. I’ll be there exactly at 3 probably until they close. 5 dollars for all day play Sun-Thursday until the end of the month I believe. I’m trying to get people to come down to this often as a half arcade kinda thing where people can play anytime. This would work well to help us get offline practice from other players in the area and level our area up in general anytime of the week instead of just during sessions where certain people are invited to come to. Anybody can invite themselves to this any day of the week and SFIV is ready to play.
Hopefully we can convince them to make the 5 dollar thing permanent for every day of the week so this will be a bit more convenient in the long run. Not trying to make this replace get together sessions but this is another option that is much easier to invite yourself into and is available during all hours of the day. It’s that ability to walk into a place at anytime and play is what made people good back in the day. I’d like to test this as an experiment and see what we can do towards bringing back an arcade style scene where people can invite themselves. Console era is too cliquey right now for us all to really get strong IMO.
If anybody else has any opinions on a place that people can just walk into and play and level up I’d like to hear as well. I like the idea a lot and it keeps a lot of the drama out and focuses people on just pressing buttons better than the other guy. Getting as many options as possible to play offline is best for the scene as a whole I would think.

Hard to get down with anything outside the occasional weekend for me.
That said, I’ve got a pair of PS3 TE sticks to bring and wouldn’t mind scooping people around the Beltsville/College Park/Silver Spring area once I do manage to make it out. I’ll post if/when that happens.

I had fun today, first time I’ve played live SF in years. Glad I didn’t get embarassed too bad. I was the tall, old, brother playing Dictator near the end.
It’s unfortunate the place closed early and I only got to meet a couple of people. Looking forward to getting out there again sometime.
Yeah I’m glad you came out Oz. I can’t believe you haven’t really played since like the GameTime days. I’m sure Renegade or some of the others probably remembrer you. I can tell you already know how to play…you just need to play more. That’s what I’m trying to do with this. Get people who normally wouldn’t come out to something that’s accessible any time of the day and just play and get better. No “I gotta like u and well there’s a lot of people coming already…” On the west coast people go out to arcades, in Japan people go out to arcades, there’s no clique you need to be in just so you can go over to some dude’s house one day a week to get good. You just have to decide you want to come out and play and the game is there to play 7 days of the week.
Just so people know we had like 13 people come out in the pouring rain to play AND the place closed mad early at 6:00 due to lights not working in the bathroom and other random power issues. We had one black out and that messed a lot of other shit up. So if we can get people to come out like that in thunderstorms and rain I can see this going somewhere. We just need to have a day where insanely bad luck doesn’t mess things up.
I’m going to set up our make up X30 SFIV session for Wednesday 3-10 PM nutting but STREET FIYTAH FO! I’ll be off that day so I’ll be there early making sure SFIV gets set up early. I’m going to talk to the manager tomorrow about maybe throwing a tournament on Thursday since that’s the last day of the week we can get the 5 dollar deal. I’ll also talk to him about reinstating the 5 dollar deal.
gg to everybody out there even tho it got cut short. im still kinda pissed about that i got lost for like a hour looking for that place. my stupid gps is trash im walking around the mall asking people where is the place. i dunno if im a be there wed its like a hour drive for me that place is more of a one time a week thing for niggas without job lol.
