MD/VA SF4 Thread

I’m going to spend my entire weekend at c3 taking peoples sticks apart aren’t I.

n-ken: your favorite fat guys favorite fat guy:cool:(not pat making up someone that would actually be a favorite in something)

Any players in Southern Maryland area for SFIV, HD Remix, or Guilty Gear (even though I’m terrible at GG)?

did someone say NOVA Dame!!! GOOOOOO NVCC!!!

lol md down 20 going into the second half.

yes!

:coffee:

Seriously though I want to play against ultra david.

MMM…well it’s all good. I have a PS3 in my house but I despise it, lol. Has anyone here gone to That C3 Cafe in Ashburn? what’s the deal on that?

actually I might end up being around a week from thursday, not this thursday. i’ll let you guys know for sure in a day or two.

yeah we’ve been there a bunch of times. its our monthly gathering/tourneys for the va/md area. it’s a fun time. you’ll enjoy yourself. especially good if you wanna better yourself at street fighter.

Good shit. Where are you living at? You should come up to Bmore and session with us in sf4.

His name is Tom Chen. He plays Ken in sf4. Want his PSN?

SO what is the deal on controllers/Sticks? I assume everyone bring custom jobs? I have a MC SE with some Sanwa parts in it that i’d want to bring, but I wouldn’t be to ‘keen’ to share with anyone…

How many people show up normally? I got about 4-5 players who would want to play. Is there a free play or is it only Tourny?
(I’m sorry about the barrage of questions, the C3 site just doesn’t answer enough of them for me…)

Hell, I’m still looking for someone who can replace the stick on my MAS. The one I have now is funny acting.

How is it acting funny? Maybe I can help.

Sometimes when you move the joystick forward or tap it more than once you will jump.

yeah you can bring your own stick/controllers. many people wont usually ask to use your stick unless they dont have one and most people have one.

we are looking at a pretty good turnout this month. im guessing 40+ heads this month. yes by all means bring all heads who want to come out and play. there will be plenty of casuals. just make sure you kind of show up a little early to get as many casuals in as you can. plus im sure there will be some casuals during and after the tourney. the c3 site isnt really that great for your questions. if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask here or the c3 thread itself.

Have you checked the switches underneath the stick to make sure none of them are malfunctioning or even being hit when they’re not supposed to by that big white block (not sure what the name of it is)?

This is, of course, assuming that you have a competition joystick/8-way.

Man I suck when it comes to checking MAS sticks. But my stick is suppose to be competitiive.

Thanks for the info. I admit I’m an old guy who’s reflexes have fallen off in the last few years, but I am looking to step up my game. I’m going to try and make it out there this weekend, but I wanted to know if there are anymore (closer) events/nights/days what have you around the Lower DC line?

I know Sinsation was in Fairfax, and that is closer for me on a regular basis. I can do Ashburn once a month, but I want to get in more games “in person”…

Does it click when you rotate it? If so, it’s an 8-way. Perfect 360s don’t click.

Check the small white rectangular boxes with red clicky switches on them to make sure they’re clicking when you rotate the stick and everything’s not too loose/not registering. You might also want to check the soldering job to make sure it’s not coming undone, which it shouldn’t, unless whoever soldered it was falling asleep at the time. You can always re-solder it, if necessary.
